I may be taking my filly to first show on sunday (weather permitting)to a local riding club show. I am not into showing these day prefer to spectate but i think i will try to get her out for the experience. I think she is to calm to show. Nothing much winds her up. But in saying that no doubt she will take me skying round the ring. She slipped over the other day so took couple of little patches out of knee (Typical) but hey ho under no illusion she can move but bet she wont lol . I am actually dreading it would try to get someone to run her for me but feel that if she does anything i would rather it be with me than put someone in a bad situation. It is going to be a big day for her as she has never travelled either so have roped few friends in to help just in case. Its also her first birthday on the day as well .

If you have access to a box or trailer, try loading her every day before the day of the show for practice and even take her for a short drive round so it's not such a huge deal when you're stressed out on the morning of the show! |

That's strange, I was thinking of taking one of mine to their first show this weekend as well - not a RC one but (hopefully) a smallish one. It's quite unusual for small shows to have Arab claaes so if it's not too wet I might be temtped
Good luck if you do go! |

Yes Silvern Scepris, that's the show. Please take Andre because if they keep getting very few entries they will drop the Arab Classes.

Thanks Cassy, I am only going to get dragged. I am very lucky the girls on my yard seem to want me to make a fall of myself so they are all offering to come and help. I never used to worry about it when Tariq was a colt. He used to just do the job and i just held on to him but falon not sure which way she will play it lol
Karon, if you do take your one to first show good luck and let us know how it goes
Carla, i think i will be definatly going. So hopefully you will get to see my little cuty again Sometimes she looks like her daddy and then other times i see sav in her. So you will have to let me know what you think of her ?
Silvern scepris, your horse looks like my gelding, not taking him though cant cope with falon and him. He will want to steal the lime light if i took him. I know it would be a calling competition with him and her as she actually thinks he is her dad even though not possible. Good luck to you if you come
Rhoni, i have actually practised putting her on trailer but she has never travelled as i am using a friends trailer. I think i may travel her without partition as she is going to be on her own. (we will see) but she will be suitably dressed for precaution

That will be fantastic, we can have our own little AL meet up at a local show. I am not actually going in the ring with anything, I am just being supervisor and general dogs body. Timberwolf will also be going to spectate. I can't wait to see 4 of my babies in the same ring (they might even be the only ones in the in-hand Arabs!!!!) unless you are going to do in hand with Andre too??

So glad you are coming Kimzi, and can't wait to meet you and your horse. I will definitely come over and say hello!! Are you doing in-hand or ridden, or both??? Ware RC definitely needs support for Arabs, pure, part or anglo - they keep threatening to drop the classes, we so need to keep these classes going - the other classes always get plenty of entries!!!
Judith, such a shame you are so far away, you could have come and partied with us!!!

Jenni5, You are so right, I just look at showing as an experience for the horses. I would never take anything to heart with it. I stopped worrying about it years ago when i realised that i didnt need anyone else to like my horses I just want to get her out there and to experience seeing all those different horses It will probably be my one and only thise year |

We tried his halter on for the first time today and he lloked so cute so will definetly be getting poor hubby to take some pics, just got to get him interested in what i'm doing instead of everything around him. He was so distracted bless him i felt a bit useless on the end of the lead. I've just watched bbc weather and they said 23 for sunday so looks like i'll have to bring a picnic. |

Should be a fun show then, especially for the judge - there will be 4 yearlings and an unruly 4yo in the Arab in-hand, hee hee!!! Can't wait, I am so going to enjoy just watching.
I also never take showing seriously because I believe that the audience are the main judges, and I have always been more than happy to take my own horses home.
