Hi all, this is my first post so be kind ! Am thinking of putting my mare in foal to an arab stallion at stud locally. She is an unregistered appaloosa. Would the foal be eligible for registration as a partbred or does the stallion need to be licenced? (he might be and I just dont know)He is a registered purebred. thanks
Miggy - we have a gentleman who comes to stay (we do B&B)n with his mare - shes Appy x Arab & abso lovely!!! Looks & moves like an Arab - but shes spotty with hardly any mane & tail - is terrible sensible, VERY athletic & just so nice!!! I love her to bits & keep trying to steal her when he comes to stay!

I have a Quarter Horse mare & we will cover her soon with our Arab stallion - hopefully to produce a Quarab next year!
Judith-thanks-nice to know it can be a good result! really hoping to get the arab mane gene though, thats the worst bit of an appy, the scant bog brush mane, I can never decide what to do with it for the best!-still least it doesnt get the arab knots.
Good luck with your breeding plans. It's good to know people like this cross. I have put my pure bred Arab to an Appaloosa stallion. She is being scanned on Thursday to see if she has taken. Fingers crossed!
