Hi everyone
As I am hoping to go into racing next year I would love to go see a few races. Lingfield and Brighton are the nearest tracks to me so as this one at Lingfield is coming up on the 7 July I wondered if anyone else was going - either as a spectator or a competitor.
I'd love to meet up with some other ALiners and race enthusiasts who can show me the ropes and teach me the jargon!
David - you mentioned being able to shadow you at a meet. Are you attending this one?

Having trained on the track recently, I quite fancy going to this.
And...............my OH has just said he'll come!! Pick me up off the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He hates racing usually. |

Just bumping this topic briefly to see if anyone can recommend any books etc on training an amateur race horse? I'd like to find out as much as I can so I'm a bit more prepared for when I start training Anubis (and myself) for a spot of racing.

I'm going to find it really difficult not being involved after all those years working with some of the best arab race horses, happy, happy days.

Rebeckah is joining our team for the day to see what our racing is all about and I have lined up a sweet little horse for her to lead up.
Our involvement is in the second and last race, it would be great to meet up with any other ALers either before racing or in the middle of the afternoon.
I will be at the Weighing room at 12.30 if anyone wants to have a look around and be back there again after the third race.

Mandy, I can't even remember what I wrote now! I spoke to Heather and she is going to try to come too! Fingers crossed. How is Lilo?? Do you think that she has taken? Do you know why someone was enquiring about Lily and Rezah on here?

I should be easy to spot - just look for the long messy red hair!!! |

Another fabulous day of racing and in glorious sunshine.
Saffy still the bridesmaid to Mushammer again !!!!!
Great to meet some of you ALers and I trust you enjoyed your day, thanks for becoming involved and judging the best turned outs, and a special thanks to rebeckhah for joining our team. Look forward to joining up with you for a training day at Lingfield next year.
Any thoughts or comments about our great sport would be appreciated
to help us plan for the future

Well done Carol on your winner! And at least Saffy ran well David - sure to win this season.
Newmarket on Wednesday for the Derby, then Hereford next weekend.
