I would certainly agree with most of the above comments especially about intelligence but! this morning my pure bred gelding Tamborito who is 15 and has a bit of a stifle problem, had got himself wedged between a hedge and a fence, He'd gone down this narrow tunnel and couldn't get back out as the field is on a slope and he would have to step back up and over a big exposed tree root. Not easy for any horse but especially one with a gammy stifle. Very fortunately the intelligence paid off, as he waited for mum to rescue him and didn't panic which could have resulted in him getting stuck in sheep fencing. I managed to saw of a rather large branch and extract him from his predicament. To which he ambled off tossing his head at me. Arabs eh, who'd have em? |

Reading through this I'm sure mine are 'typical Arabs', gentle, kind and highly intelligent, and I agree with the lady who said you have to be 'special', but only in that you have to truly understand horses! A friend called round to see my Arabs when I first got them, sadly she is one of those who think Arabs are 'nutty', she was amazed to see my grand daughter, then aged 3, standing at the fence cuddling the pair of them, heads gently resting one on each shoulder There I rest my case! |

Today I went to look at a beautiful Arab mare for sale for a client of mine. This lady had a small stud, and also had this mares colt for sale...They were all incredibly well cared for and so lovely, I could have taken them all home!! Im currently Arab-less and seeing these wonderful horses made me feel quite sad but also determined to get another..sadly finances are restricting me but I am ever hopeful! But these horses although sparky were being shown off to me around this cluttered old farm, with pigs and cows and were beautifully behaved. Yet I go to so many yards and see anything ranging from a kiddies pony up to a riding club horse and I rarely see anything so chilled and easy to handle..Says it all really! Lx |
