Hi all,
I have in my head that when you register with the AHS you get third party insurance. Does this only cover you or the horses registered with the AHS or could it also cover me with my none arab horses? I havent yet had all my info sent through to me (delayed either by them or post) so if anyone nows i would be grateful.

Thanks

As an AHS member you are covered for public liability - it excludes payout to employees, member and family. I think it covers any horse that can be proved is in your care/ownership.

I think ill give them a call and find out because my other insurance has now run out so i need to be covered. Didnt see the point of taking out another policy if they already cover me.

thanks

Lauren, I would check it out very carefully, I have still retained my separate public liability.

Has anyone EVER made a claim on the AHS insurance and been paid out

When the AHS insurance was covered by NFU we got a written pamphlet giving benefits - I have never received one from SSEB.

Jude - in answer to your question Has anyone claimed from AHS Insurers and been paid out? I made a claim late last year when my 3yr old damaged a cars wing !! The insurance company were actually very helpful and paid out without any probs, bit of a slow process but got there in the end.

Elaine.

Elaine thats good to know, I had heard of someone who had an awful accident - horse came over backwards on them - and insurance wouldn't pay out. So best to check, as horse owners/AHS members we need to know we are covered.

I'm currently involved in a claim. One of my horses also had an argument with a car about 8 weeks ago again SEIB were very helpfull.

The claim seems to be any third party incident you or your horse are involved in. If you are a member of the AHS you are covered.
