Hi, this is a dificult one for me,I have been asked to provide a 'replacement value' on the mare I lost last month, I know everyone says the best way to find out what your horse should be worth is to check the going rate for something similar, but I can't find anything! any of you breeders have any idea on this one, here is her pedigree:

any help would be very much appreciated, I'm not prepared to tell them what I paid for her as I know it was WAY below her true value.

So sorry to read about what happened to your mare Rosie  .
Can't offer any ideas of replacement value but she has beautiful breeding. Do you have any photos of her to put up? Might help in any evaluation.

I've been trying to dig out some photos, sadly most were stored on my PC and I lost them when the motherboard went a few months ago, all I can say is she really looked like Jacia & Garbo, as soon as I can find a decent photo I'll scan and post it.
Paula, yes solicitor has been in touch with the b******ds, we're waiting for a reply! |

Hi Rosie,
Sorry to hear about your mare. For an insurance claim (which i don't think this is), the easiest and most straightforward thing to do, is to have an outside party (an AHS panel judge would be perfect) write a value on your mare. Where do you live?

| Just to try to get an idea to put a value on her: your mare was 9 years old, how many foals had she had, was she ridden, did she ever win anything in hand or under saddle, etc. |
