I think part of the problem is Paula/Admin, is stuck between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
If the thread runs into a 'Lets have an EAGM' then maybe A/Lines would have the demise of the AHS laid at it's door.
How many times in the past have I asked for a forum to be dedicated to the AHS on here? loads......every time I get the phone call, not from A/Lines, saying not to encourage a relationship with A/Lines.
Now when it suits everyone to have a moan, it's different?
This is the only avenue people have to vent their anger, ask questions and discuss our society. It's like blinking kids stuff if we can't openly talk about the society.
Another slapped leg for me I guess |

No disrepect intended AT ALL to PAula and those who run Arabian Lines but if we can't talk amongst ourselves on here, then where can we? The idea of a forum is that it is fre and open to all.
I do see that it could be awkward though. Makes you wonder what the AHS has to hide. |

Quite frankly I think the AHS should take this as a lesson and listen a little more. Instead of putting pressure on Admin so they feel they have to stop things going further for fear of being pulled into legal implications or otherewise maybe the AHS should consider why people use and love this site so much - if the AHS had a user friendly webiste, that had a forum on and where people could go to get all the information they need and have questions answered about all aspects of Arabs in a user friendly format they wouldn't have the need to point the finger at others for causing trouble who are in fact providing a service to the AHS members that they themselves can't be A*@~+d to provide!!
Even simpler would be of course to stop the hiding or information and share with the members regarding what the AHS consider to be 'in-house' matters not to be shared with members - then they wouldn't have people in uproar against them!
AHS the saying is live and learn - not hide your head and regress

It must be difficult for Admin on here Rainflower, you are right.
You can see what will happen, any problem arising from discussions on this forum will be because of the internet. I have heard it so many times as a lot of have too.
It is easy to say things on here when you don't have a person in front of you.
My opinion for what it is worthis that the internet is here, it will always be here now, surely the best way forwards is to embrace it and try to form an alliance between it and the AHS, rather than all fight at odds with one another, which is what happens now.
I hate the chat rooms, but like so many find they fill a gap on a rainy day!. I am not 'above them' which is where a lot come from I feel the internet can be very useful and very destructive.
As Arabian Lines is so well established, surely the best thing for the AHS to do, is try to form a relationship here rather than just ignore it.

| The AHS is stuck in the Dark Ages....really irritating!!!! it needs to modernise, and listen to members.....also make itself more open and accessible, not hide behind rules, regs, and council members..and this is without getting at anyone..who are mostly so old, and set in their ways, they can't see what is in front of them! And I, for one, am not afraid to stand up and tell em! |

I have to say in defence of some of the past members of council that ideas and suggestions were 'blocked' by a minority. Some council members were acting off their own backs not even putting certain issues to the vote. I remember only too well the opposition I was up against when I asked for them to allow Embryo Transfer. I was told by the 'chair' at the AGM 'we've allowed AI' - ie don't ask for anything else !! Then when I stood again to ask another question it was said ' we've discussed that now' ie shut up we are moving on !! So the attitude has been there for sometime. Incidently I went ahead with the ET anyway and was ready for a fight should Sanaa have become pregnant - she didn't 
There are very serious matters being raised by Philip and Caroline on the other thread which need answering not avoiding. Lets hope common sense prevails and the AHS begin listening. |

| I didn't know I couldn't register an ET foal...I want to do that with Crystal, due to her age....and my friend has agreed to let her mare be the recipient, oh well..looks like I will be having a fight with someone then! |

You can do one Embryo transfer per year, you need to apply for a permit.
