Can anyone shed any light for me?

My first Arab was by Persimmon out of a mare called Iona or Ionia. (His name was Ilderim)

Excuse my ignornace, but what lines are these (Crabbett/Polish etc)?

I saw on another thread a photo of Persimmon, does anyone know any more about him?

Any info would be great, thank you

Brilliant! Thank you for the pics

Persimmon is my kinda guy! Ilderim was just the most fantastic horse, I wonder if he got his temperament from his sire?

All these years I never knew what his breeding was, & I have always wanted a Crabbet/Spanish! Now I know why I'm drawn to them.

Thank you

Hi Emma - pics of Ilderim are somewhere at my parents house. I am going there in May so will try & dig some out. Not sure if I will be able to scan them in anywhere, but if not I could post you some colour copies?

He was the most amazing horse. I was 14 years old when I bought him, he was a 5yr old stallion! He was my first Arab. He was the gentlest & kindest horse you've ever met. My mum (who is very petite & also quite scared of horses) would happily lead Ilderim around & she even rode him a few times. He looked after her like she were precious china. I did have him gelded at 6, as it was so hard to find a livery yard to take him & I had no intention of breeding from him. I could go on for hours, but he was just the sweetest horse I've ever known, so easy to have & such a pleasure to be around. Sadly my circumstances changed, but I sold him to a lovely family with 2 young girls who Ilderim helped teach to ride & progress.
