Today I opened the mail to see a sight that made me sick ! it has to be stopped, dogs and cats in such small cages (as many as could be crammed in,) waiting to be bought as food, tortured and only half killed so the meat will taste better, when someone comes to buy they can decide how the animal is killed, I have NEVER, NEVER seen such horror in all my 62 years. we must do something now to stop this, I will find out where to write and protest. as I write this I am trembling with anger, horror, saddness, close to tears yet I cant cry for the feeling in my tummy keeps welling up for wanting to be sick.

I am off out shortly to buy the paper. Were the Daily Mail trying to highlight the cruelty? Nicky |

Yes, they were highlighting the cruelty, as it was meant to have been banned last year, but it is still a roaring trade . They were in cages and nets so tightly, I'm surprised they could could even breathe it is so barbaric |

I bought the Daily Mail on Monday and it exposed the designer store, Nordstrom for selling coats which were trimmed with skins from domesticated dogs, even though the fur was advertised as fake. This company goes on to supply other chains like DKNY, Beyonce's clothing range and the list goes on...
Apparently many items like gloves with 'fake' fur trimming/lining, coats with 'fake' fur lining etc being sold in places like Camden, Covent Garden and Portobello Road etc are only labelled as 'made in China' as they fall outside the fur categories so people are unaware that they are in fact buying dog or cat fur. It said that the majority of 'rabbit' pom pom scarves which have been popular over the past 2 winter seasons were in fact cat fur.
Its disgusting, how after all the media coverage can people still continue to buy these products??? How have sales in Britain gone up by 30% in the last 2 years??? Its sickening. I wouldn't touch any clothing with any kind of fur (fake or not on it) - how does wearing a dead animal look good, even if it is fake I'd still be supporting it?? I'd rather see the fur on the animal, thank you.
I can't stand going into London and seeing so many women wearing long fur coats and clothes with fur accessories and then leading a dog around with them... how can they???
Sorry - I feel very storngly about this. |

Kash, I can remember going on anti-fur marches many years ago (probably 15-20yrs ago?) and it was amazing how it seemed to go out of fashion as consumers become more enlightened. They burnt a huge pile of furs in Trafalgar Square and the group PETA wound down as they thought their job completed. It is unbelievably depressing how fur seems to have made such a come back in the last few years, I suppose each generation has to discover these issues for themselves .
Lynda, what bugs the hell out of me is that China is to be hosting the Olympics next time around! Why sanction that country as half way decent when its human rights record is abysmal, god only knows the way they treat animals is absolutely appalling . The bears being kept in captivity for their bile is truly horrendous. I will go onto the link and sign.

been saying this since I was 13years old " fur can only be seen on very beautiful animals and very ugly women " I am, and always will be against this sickening trade. Guinea pigs, cats, dogs, feret, mink, pony skin, and all the rest, should be on the animal it was grown on and no where else. Its not just that humans think they can just take it ,,it is that the process is always so cruel. And... as for Niomi Cambell,!!!( was paid shed loads of money on an anti-fur campaign just to start wearing it again the next time a big cheque was waved !!!) give me five mins with her ( preferably locked in a fur processing factory over night) and I will happily give her food for nightmares that would stay with her for ever. even tho i"m not a horsey lady like my sweet niece lynda. i was disgusted reading the article about china. i am an animal lover also.and here in the usa. one can very seldom find products and clothing that isnt made in china.??i never could understand why. except of course its cheap labor.but for this government to sit back and not apply sanctions for something so atrocious isludicrous.its enough to make us vegetarians.strange we havent had this on our world or local news. kathleen |

This is just so horrendous it makes me feel so sick. I just can't get those pictures out of my head, those poor poor animals. The Japanese and Chinese are evil when it comes to how they treat animals, they kill tigers and other animals for their chinese medicines. And isn't it them that kill the dolphins and whales as well!! It really makes by blood boil!
Don't even get me started on the whole fur thing!! I read (again in the Daily mail I believe) about Golden Retreiver puppies and German Shepherd puppies being used to make fur coats, what kind of twisted sick individual would want a fur coat made out of puppies on their back!!!

It might be difficult, but I made my comments and when I looked at the list I was not on it I think it says not all comments are printed, which seems silly to me! I think there is a website" friends of dogs" or something where you can sign a petition, hope that helps. (ps I shall look for it today unless some kind person can put a link in here to it |

I've posted a link to friends of dogs web site higher up which is a great web site and has specimen letters for you to send to the Chinese (and other countries who do this) embassy, and other things you can do---if enough people do this it will be a lot moere helpful than signing a petition, though obviously takes a bit more time.Worth it though when you think of the suffering. And you don't have to look at any horrendous images.
Please take a few minutes of your time to do this---writing comments in the Daily Mail and here, though spreading the word, does nothing to help.
