If anyone has paid through paypal, you can recall the payment. Very easy process.
You will get your money back. If done through a credit card, the best thing to do is call your credit card provider and explain the situation - they will refund the payment to your card almost immediately.

louisejo thank you for doing this - how very kind of you. It is a relief to know the mares are OK - although still worried about foaling; how can two non-horsey people possibly cope with this?
One of the mares (GF Pahira) was supposed to be going later to a good friend of mine on a breeding loan, for her to breed a foal from my boy (in exchange for a breeding to Tobago for another of Marie-Ann's mares). I have had to tell my friend that this arrangement is now highly unlikely to happen - I feel I have really let her down. Why am I so gullible?
Hanne you must be so relieved that your boy is now in very good hands. |

Nikki---I have been worrying about that mare since she got it---I hated the way she treated and bred from her dogs so did not trust her at all. I think the best thing you could do is get in touch with the mare's former owner and suggest she goes and gets her back---in the circumstances I think she would be unlikely to meet with resistance. After she is safely away from there I am sure between us on A Lines we can find the mare a good home --I will help any way I can. |

There are no mares on site other than Marie-annes own. All others have been removed by the owners.
Kate - you are not gullible, just trusting and honest. It is an unfortunate situation and seems to be getting more and more complicated. |

The mare I am reffering to is the one that Nikki was helping find a good home for and Marie Anne took her, so technically she is hers, but if I were the former owner I would want her back in the circumstances. |

Kate, I have to agree with louisejo, you are not gullible, you are an honest, caring person, just like most people who post on AL. Unfortunately the odd person invades our community and ruins it for everyone else.
Louisejo, you are doing a brill job keeping an eye on the mares, I wish I were closer so I could help. These mares really need to be moved to someone who has experience with foaling, is there anything that we can do?

Unfortunately, i think it is too late to move them, it would be too stressful this late in their pregnancy. In an ideal world they would be somewhere with someone on site who knew what they were doing.
I will be in touch with Neil and have left him my number so hopefully he will call. Other than that there doesn't seem to be anything anyone can do. |

I'm pleased to say that i have spoken to Rabanza's owner Sandra, she is now back with her since last monday
Had i of known what Marie-ann was like, i certainly would not of given her Sandra's contact details. Marie-ann was told that Rabanza was only suitable for very, very light hacking due to injury(which was what i was told) and Marie-ann posted on here, how she'd been riding her and she was sound-she'd sent to a breaking yard where she kept on being returned as un-balanced.
I have assured Sandra, that there is no way, is Marie ann getting the mare back This all thanks to Julie, the livery yard owner.
Could we try and share info in future on dodgy people? |

Just like to say thankyou to Neil. I'm sure this is the last thing he wants to be worrying about at this tough time, and all credit to him for helping to sort things out. |

Sure Mandy - my email is kate@sirc.org (I'd better update my profile; that may be an old and defunct email address in there.)
And thanks louisejo and tahir - that makes me feel a bit better, although still rather foolish, and very sad for my lovely friend Carole, who had set her heart on breeding a Tobago-baby from this mare.
Still, as long as the charity gets the money, and the horses are safe, we should be thankful. |

Well done Neil, I am so sorry you have been left with this mess, it was all so unnecessary, but you have "come good", and it is so reassuring that the money will go to where it was intended.
Nikki, am so glad Rabanza is now safe.
Kate, I feel so sorry for your friend, perhaps she could advertise on here for a suitable mare on loan for breeding, that way she will get what she wants and will hopefully loan a mare from a reputable owner??
Carla, xx.

Who is going to foal the last two mare's down? will it be Neil? will he know what to do,? are the mares out in the field? because I hear the field is like a gypsy encampment ( words of someone who has been there recently) with all sorts of farm machinery and rubbish laying around! I am concerned for the mares and their foals, please someone reassure me that they are being cared for as they are so near their time of foaling and for all who willingly trusted their animals into someone elses care, please in the future check the home properly next time to save further suffering( ok now I will go and hide) |

Lynda
Looks like Neil is coping, i have left my number with him to call me if he needs and he has agreed it is ok for me to pop in often and check them. The mares are coming in at night and now have clean thick straw beds, lots of hay and water and are having hard feed. The field is adequate now for 3 mares. |

Lyndilou if you look back on the thread I asked all of these questions, and louisejo replied as best she could. I also expressed concern that 2 non-horsey people are in charge in of mares who are close to foaling, but no-one is sure what to do, as apparently it is too late to move them.
I would have thought that if they could be moved to a stud relatively nearby, the travelling would not be too stressful for them - and better than being left with no experienced carers on 'foal-watch' - but caring for and foaling down 2 mares is a lot to ask someone else to take on.

Everyone is forgetting that these animals belong to Marie-Anne and whilst she is in prison Neil is taking care of them. They can not be moved without his permsission. |
