Looking for any info on Emotsia (Esplendor x Maima) She's a bay mare born in 1987. We know she was Res.Champion at UKIAHS and 1st in European Championships but do know when this was...can anyone help?
Also any info on her family would be fantastic!

You may already have this info but in case you dont she was sold by Darley Stud Management at the Ascot Sales (or at least was in the catalogue) in August 2002. She was in foal to Frere de Loups. They used her for race breeding and it says in the catalogue that she ran 8 times in Russia, won 2 and was second twice, also 3rd in the UK. She has bred two winners on the racetrack that I know of (one by Manganate one by Bengali d'Albrecht). It also mentions the show ring successes. Hope this is of interest! |

Almost All (1999),out of Emotisa, was also sold through Ascot Sale in 2004. lot no.174, and had won at Southall races, between the close of entries and the sale day. sold to Linda Cross I believe...I remember this one... the other two offsprings mentioned were, Double Handfull(1994) & Emblazon (2001).
It says Emotsia was Reserve Champion UKIAHS & 1st.Euro Champion scoring 88.8 points....Do you know which year that was....

Moment was Tersk bred, eventually went to the US (1983)and in 1986 was at stud with Valhalla Arbians & Peter Clausen at a $10.000 stud fee. will post lovely pic of him...ps he stood 15.1h..... Esplendor was bred by Maxwells & exported in 1985. Anyone know where she was in Russia, was it Tersk as many of their mares got cataloged with a small pic...or which stud, as I have some of the older mags......could have a look for her racing, showing, etc. Magnolia rings bells..any clues...and did you google her as there are three references. |

Almost All won on Dubai Day last year and was second in another Premier Handicap. Fantastic racehorse and a super personality!! Emblazon is now in Dubai racing. We pretrained him before he went there. Again, a lovely horse with a great temperament.

From the straightegyptians site... I believe Esplendor has become, with time, a good broodmare sire for Tersk.
His daughter Emotsia (ex Maima by Moment out of Malaga) came to UK, she was lovely. She was very dark bay. Not sure if she was ever shown but she was / maybe still is! - a great mover. |

I think that the people who owned Aikon Azsu (a bay stallion)also owned this mare - I have seen a photo of her somewhere, she looked super. Will go and have a search! |

Was it Mr & Mrs Reynolds/ Duchy Arabians..Pic of Aikon Aszu in AHS No.95.Winter 2000.pg.145. Aikon Azsu.
In AHS News No.76 Summer 1991,pg.35. Paris 1990, British Exhibitors make clean sweep of Awards, with Emotisa getting a mention in the report and following into second place in the three year old filly class, with 87 points, the winner Needhams Libanon Esplashal got 88, saying Maxwell's Tersk-bred Emotsia who trotted brilliantly. ( Sorry I don't have a spare copy of 76 at present, if I manage to get one I'll let you know)...Gips also won this year and is mentioned along with others in this excellent report by Betty Finke, confirming the British entries kept the flag flying, with 26 British competitors & 17 places, inc. 5 wins,2 seconds,2 thirds,5 fourths & 3 fifths + 2 championships & reserves. only four horses scoured less than 80 points....Also shows a picture of Estepa (1987)(Ghadames/Esperada)who was owned & bred by the Maxwells - Junior Female Champion.
Towerland (UK Inter-1989)Betty Finke's report is also in No.76 and Zarav, daughter of Nrav gets her winning mention + 2 Nrav sons, Escapade & Cirav, (just for Shah & me). Sue. |

Fi Reynolds owned Emotsia and bred a very pretty foal, Mimosa, out of her by Aikon Aszu. My only interest was that I own Khylie, Aikon Aszu's dam and I don't live far away from the Reynolds here in Somerset. I have photos of both Emotsia and Mimosa, but would need to email them if you're interested. I thought Emotsia was lovely and I thought she was sold by Fi to someone in the South West along with Mimosa, but I don't know the details.

Hi,
I wondered where Emotsia went after fiona. I own Emotsias foal that was at foot with her at ascot sales ! I will mail you a picture of him (Duchy Vendetta). I also have a picture of emotsia. The best quote I have ever read about a horse was emotsia at european championships " THis horse was flying without wings". Emma Maxwell showed her at europeans and she was a uk race winner. She breeds big foals as Ralph is 16hh (Sire is Vadeer)!! So pleased she is with you and hope she breeds you some lovely foals. The foal she had by frere du loup I think was Duchy Little Red who went to endurance lady but think hes has been sold on now. Dawn xx |
