Dear all Thanks for all the goodluck message and jennie of course we will have space for the horses and horse box.
We are actually Taking convelancing horses and horses for holidays, we are very lucky to have horse walkers lunging pens etc.. to help recovery from injuries and this will help us bring in an income out of the showing season.
We only have a few spaces left for showing livery, as we dont want to be manufactured. and feel that if we limit our numbers it will allow us to concentrate on the individual horses and hopefully get better results.
many thanks daniel & chloe
ps thanks for video lisa
pps Tina did you find a yard in the end.

Hi tina it chloes partner daniel, talking of run she keeps trying to lock me in the horse walker and put it on full speed. she also wants to wire to the mains to make sure i dont keep ducking under the rubber paddles as they come round.
"how some women get there kicks" I should be thankful i am 9 years her senior and since shes been getting fit for show season, "well" to much infomation.
whos your gelding by, will you take him under saddle yourselve.
90 pounds for part livery i cant beleive the prices in our area. are full liveries dont pay that.
You should give chloe a call and come and see horses. i think chloes thinking of bringing her gelding out this year undersaddle so any tips could be useful
take care |

Sorry to butt in but compared to prices in my area Tina's £90 is a bargain.
The normal price is £140 for part livery including mucking out and Full livery including exercise starts at £175. I'm paying £125 a week schooling full livery for Dennis and that is heavily discounted because she's a friend of mine!!!
I'm in Southern Hampshire where decent DIY is £30+ a week.
Perhaps I should move!!!!!

£90 for part livery sounds about what you get around here - we are in mins from London. south oxfordshire - but for full livery on a yard with an indoor school, it about £125+ a week, and thats if your horse is on straw and eats hay (as opposed to shavings/haylage)! I'd be really interested to know what sort of prices people do pay arouns the country. Incidently got a space on our yard at the moment for another DIY - very low key as is my parents place, used to be a large riding centre but we no longer have a menage. Just outside Henley-on-Thames, large stables in covered yard, turnout all year (although we are keeping them in a couple of days a week at the moment to save the ground!). might suit endurance rider - hacking is fantastic considering just 40 We'd prefer a mare as have 4 here and just one gelding (who is quite happy with his hareem!). If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be drop me a line! Thanks E.x |

At prices like that we should all move to Vera's area and set up business. Makes me realise how lucky I am that my rented land is at agricultural rates, even though there are no stables there the shelter is good and our winters are mild, so far they have lived out quite happily.
I have toyed with the idea of sending them one at a time for a short season of show livery, but so far have not taken the plunge. |

Hi Pat,
Trouble is land is so expensive, our small 2 bed EOT is £150,000.
I consider myself very lucky to rent a small yard, 5 stables, smallish barn and four and a half acres for £100 a week. All maintenance, including fences, pasture management, general repairs etc etc at my cost - that's why I need a CHEAP lunging area surface as I have to pay for it and at the end of the day the land isn't mine. Landowner won't hear of any kind of formal arrangement but having said that I have been there 5 and a half years and they don't bother me and I don't bother them!!

Vera There are places in our area that do charge whose prices,
we are showing inhand yard and you cant demand those fees,
Although full liveries that must be excerised/schooled or taken on the gallops would be higher but not in excess of your discounted rate.
we do not consider DIY as we are on a private estate and have access to gallops/cross country course and there are no offical bridle ways on the estate therefore it is only ourselves and a racing stud that can ride on the land.
There is plenty of off rd hacking in the area and many DIY yards just feel DIY=stressful life
i think DIY in our area ranges from £20 upwards.
we are probably a bit cheaper for full livery as they are to suppliment costs out of show season and any extra money for an empty stable is not shyed upon.

Hi Daniel. My boy is by Sheikh Damas(no, i hadn't heard of him either!!) Grandsire;King Cotton Gold. Maybe I should pop down and see you both, might be interesting to get Chloe to look at Charlie! He was 3rd only time shown in-hand, but really needs a runner as he is mad!!! Tail right over back and goes for it!!! Who are you bringing out under saddle? Is it the gelding that is up for sale? or has he gone? Keep showing hubby, but he says cause the livery bills are so high, not!! Our place does diy, but Charlie is funny, he doesn't like going out in the winter, and if he's on part, at least he's skipped out, hayed, watered and cuddled til i get there!! We have an indoor school/outdoor school/ lunge pen, but hacking is a bit naff!! Are you at the Scrase yard? Tina.
