Hello everyone

I have just been watching Towerlands UK international 2006 on DVD...(I have never been unfortunatley). I have noticed how alot of horses have there tails crimped/style, I think this enhances alot of tails and I just wondered what views everyone else had??

Just curious

Yes I quite like it, can see why it would look peculiar to people into some other breed types though. Mind you, plenty of them probably plait tails which I think looks lovely too. I quite often wash Kuraishiya's tail, plait it with a bit of baby oil in and then take it out a couple of hours later. All the other liveries say I'm playing at My Little Pony but she does look very pretty with a crimped, shimmery tail !

I don't think it is a deliberate ploy, it is more likely that the tail has been washed, plaited and bandaged up to keep it clean. If this is done while the tail is still wet/damp the crimping in the tail stays in all day despite combing through.

I may be wrong .......

Then a lot of producers also bag the tails, again to keep them clean which can also give the tail a crimped appearance.

I too like the crimped tail but if the horse has a real long thick tail I think it looks better natural. My stallion has a really long thick tail, alas usually a greyish brown rather than the snow white nature intended.

I'll try this in the summer when I give Amelia a bath. Can you do it with manes too? ...assuming her mane ever recovers from the horrible dreadlocks that it's currently in...

I occasionally plait K's mane and spray a bit of show shine or whatever it's called on and it does look lovely and silky. Bit of baby oil put very sparingly onto the manecomb makes it look nice too. K's mane is completely dreadlocked at the moment, but I'm just so relieved that she now has proper turnout that I don't care (much!)
