I received the Malvern Schedule today - am I being dim or have they scrapped the Senior Veteran classes. This year "Veteran" seems to be over 17yrs - wasn't there always a 21yrs and over class 
Rose Aboud would be horrified to have to strut her aging 20yo stuff with the "kids" - I was saving her for next year when she could be the youngest in the real oldies class

| Hi Karen - I have just looked in last year's catalogue and there was a class for veteran mares age 17 -20 years then another class 21 years and over. Maybe they will split the class if they receive enough entries? |

At the top of this years schedule it does say:
Please note the following classes will be split by age into junior/intermediate/senior sections as appropriate and according to entries after the closing date of entries. 10,11,12,13(veteran mares) 14,16,18,19.
So as long as there are enought entries you should be ok. |

I'll be very sad if there isn't a Veteran Mare class as I sponsor it and have done since 2002. There is a fantastic crystal trophy and extra rosettes for all entries.
So come all bring out your oldies, they always get an amazing reception from the spectators!

I have been promised a special oldie to show in the veteran mares class.......wont tempt fate yet though....... |

Are the mares on the friday? This might sound mean but my OH cousin has been really inconsiderate and decided to get married on the 28th July which is the Saturday, Grrrrr. Im secretly hoping that they dont get married so I can still go. If not im hoping to get up there even if its just for the Thursday and Friday I am soo disapointed that I will miss the Saturday though. Anyone got some really good ideas how I can get out of it?? Without upsetting the whole family eeek! What about if I go for the Thursday, Friday and then say really sorry theres no way I can get back?? hehe!   |

Kirsty, you have a contagious disease called arabitis, the only known relief is a LOT of arabs in one place on one day. This disease is highly contagious therefore you could infect a lot of people at the wedding. You will be spareing a lot of people a lot of pleasure opps I mean poverty by not attending and giving yourself some relief of your terrible symptoms.
It could work - couldn't it.......

| I was disappointed to see that the Junior in-hand Gelding classes and Futurity Gelding class are BOTH on Thursday afternoon, which means that the 3 year old geldings could have to go straight from their in-hand class into the Futurity class which is a bit unfair on them, and surely they won't perform their best then in the second class? I hope there will be an amendment to the timings... |
