Empathy is what makes us human. Those of us who have lost special friends know exactly how we feel, and even if you haven't lost someone then you can imagine how we feel.
A tear has been brought to my eye many times on this forum, can't say other forums have that effect on me.
We have a great responsibility to our friends when they become part of our lives. Horses are people in their own right (any animal is) with personalities and emotions. I am proud that I don't call them 'it'. I cringe when people refer to their animals as 'it', just goes to show that they see 'it' as an object not a being.
Pauline, Dennis is fine, we've got the vets at the end of the month so fingers crossed....
