I know it may be a little early for you over there. But have any of your mares come into season yet? We've just had a great week with temperatures in the 80's and I've had 3 mares in 1 week come into season. This is great news for me as the past 2 years all the horses haven't felt much like coming into season. I'm hoping it was just the climate change. Now they are all accustom to it. I've covered 2 mares this week and got a date ready to take Gemma to visit Gai Prince Louis.
Not sure if Jane's in foal. She has a big tummy but I can't feel anything kicking yet. I'm hoping it's a very quiet filly. I deparately want another filly from her before she gets too old. She's only ever produced 2 fillies and one of those I lost at 6 weeks.
Sue what a thing to say about your horses!! Only joking!
Did you take your horses with you when you went to America? I am coming over for a year in July to work, but not sure which state yet! What state do you live in?
Oh and yes, Po has been in season already too and we're in Scotland So defo not the weather! But it may be because I've got her toasty warm in her rug OR more likely she has a BF in the next paddock
Crystal has an Ovarian cyst..so she comes into season all year round....that and te fact he is an incurable flirt...anything remotely male she'll show off to..if she is in the mood! The rams got quite confused last year..poor things were out with the ewes, doing their jobs..and there's this big chestnut horse trying to get fruity with them...they didn't know where to look!
My arab mare Mia comes in season all year round, but I never know when my cob mare, Brambles is in season. Have to walk Brambles past the 6yr old Arab stallions door twice a day and even he doesn't seem to know, or maybe it's just that he doesn't fancy a great big fat cob for his first wife. Sorry Brambles, I love you really.
