The bay colour gene in 100% Crabbet Arabians in the UK only exists in 2 living Arabians. They are the 1986 bay stallion Golden Khayyam (Ranadi - Rare Magic by Indian Magic) and the 1994 bay/grey mare Narishka (Ranadi - Nafranta by Manto). I am planning to loan the stallion this spring but it is a chance as he has never been used and he is 21 years old this year. I own and bred the mare Narishka. She has had some bad breeding luck but is visiting Indian Idyll this year in the hopes of a 100% Crabbet foal for 2008. And yes Ranadi, sire of both, was a dark bay/brown stallion and seemingly a dominant bay sire - unfortunately he left very few foals. He does have a bay/grey Crabbet/GSB son Sengahn Silver who is owned and was bred by Rose Ennick in Wales. As yet he has no foals. This stallion also has a bay full sister but she also has had no foals to date. Maybe frozen semen AI to an Australian Crabbet bay stallion will hapen some time soon. A couple of breeders down under are looking into it - we can but cross our fingers. In short, you are not going to find a bay 100% Crabbet to buy over here - they don't exist.
