I have grave concerns about staging the the play Equus, too much publicity for copycats IMO. Having seen the reports and photos in the papers recently, it does make me wonder what producers want in way of getting ideas for plays and films? Surely there are enough 'other' scripts or ideas you can have, naked or not, sex or not, who cares! but without the cruelity issue to animals or beastialty?
Having a naked Harry Potter only makes it more of a talking point I suppose.
Very sick people out there, poor racehorse in the attack, I just wonder why people do it, I can't work it out.

I watched a stage play of Equus once and it was very much concentrated on the discussions between the psychiatrist and the boy. I'd forgotten a lot of the plot Vera.
I do agree that there is a huge danger of copycat Sue, but hopefully if this is only a theatre production rather than a film, the disturbed people are unlikely to see it!!!
You'd really have to be deeply disturbed to actually be able to get a weapon and carry out such an attack. Very worrying the mindset of whoever did that to the racehorse Marilyn mentioned.

A friend's daughter, who attends a private school, went to see this play as part of the curriculum. Many of the girls came away traumatised. Why take 15 year old school girls to see this sort of play???

Castrate them without sedation, force them to eat their own balls then strap them in the electric chair. I would be the first volunteer to pull the switch. |
