Hi - I went and it was great. Very informative and interesting. The hospitality was fantastic and every one was very friendly. If you didn't make it, then make a date for next time - even if you think you know all there is to know about arabs/showing etc you will still come home having picked up a new tip or 3. |

Hi,
I went as well - it was great! There was some really good tips as well as practical information. A great chance to ask Judges, Handlers and trainers questions and get honest answers. There was also lots of 'hands on' training with some of Silverdales horses with which to put into practice what we had been taught in the morning.
If they ever do one again you should definitly go - everyone can learn something. It's also really nice to meet like minded amateurs and have some fun.

Lauren / Alicia
we are putting on a clinic in essex area (Writtle) on 10th March. We have Fiona Grant-Chivers, Frances and Paul Atkinson on hand to give expert advise on both in-hand and ridden showing. You can bring your own horse or come along and watch. Email at hoconews@aol.com or Justine.rodgers@mandg.co.uk if you want to know more.

I went to the Silverdales Seminar, and it was brilliant, very informative. It was lovely to meet Alicia (Sheena) and Lauren (Kash) from Arabian Lines. I have come to the conclusion though that I am no good at this in-hand lark, I will leave others to that, and if I am lucky to have bred a superstart then I shall get someone else to show it for me. I will stick to riding (purely for pleasure and some sponsored rides), I think at my age my nerves can no-longer cope with the stress of the show ring.
Thank you once again for a fabulous day Silverdales, lovely food, amazing setting and horses. It was also nice to meet Mike too, liked your car !!! Nicky |

Hi, so glad you all enjoyed it, we were very lucky with the weather as well it was fantastic!!! It was lovely to meet new people and also such enthusiastic people as after all this is what it is all about, we all have to start somewhere so dont be put off and think that you cant do it, everybody was great all of you will be more than capable of going out there and doing a good job. I would like to thank Mike, as after he had impressed all of us with his new car, he did sort himself out and talk some sense!!! Sue Woodhouse and Joan Bishop who had put together a very interesting talk on conformation and also what the judges are looking for, which was certainly very helpful!!!! My friend Sarah who did a fantastic job cooking for all of, even through a powercut! Also everyone behind the scenes who contributed in some way or other to make it a very successful day and I musnt forget the horses they were great!

I would like to say that is was good to see lots of new faces at the Silverdale Training day. It is refreshing to know that there are new people out there wanting to know more about the training and showing of the Arabian Horse. Sue woodhouse and Dr Bishop gave a very interesting talk from a judges point of view and I must say it cast a new light on things for a lot of people. It is not rocket science the way to train your horse for the show ring and I hope that those of you who came along enjoyed it and learned something new from the day.
PS Becky I had only to stop twice on the way home to fill up!!!! |
