I wonder if there could be a link on a 'sticky' for this auction, I know it is run by another site, maybe this is not possible?
I also wonder why not many bids have been made? Can some of the details on the stallions say which counrty they are from please. Maybe also give out the stallion owners terms for livery too. This might help before anyone bids?

Sorry - I didn't respond to the requests for countries/locations, etc.
My boy H Tobago is available by AI only - frozen or chilled semen can be shipped to anywhere in the UK or Europe, either from Twemlows (frozen - and chilled over the next 2 weeks) or from Cliveden Stud (chilled). Mares can also come to Cliveden Stud, where he is standing (and which has very reasonable livery rates for visiting mares, for AI with fresh semen.
I don't know if this info will be any use in increasing the number of bidders, but I've had a request from someone who is intending to bid for Tobago, asking if the nomination could be used in 2008, as her filly is not old enough this year - the answer of course is yes! I'm sure many other stallion owners would be equally willing to accept such 'deferred' nominations. Perhaps more bidders will be attracted if this is made clear? It's a good way of securing a nomination to your favourite stallion, even if you are not in a position to use it this season... Just a thought.

I sent a bid in on Saturday and it still hasn't gone on the site. I also tried emailing Marie-Ann as I expect she will be a very busy lady but no reply.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all very much for your very kind words...
Unfortuantely, I had a major system failer of my PC at home.... I have been unable to access even basic files on my pc untill now... so there has been a delay in updating the website.
I have updated the bids... and I will certainly try my very best to incorporate all your suggestions onto the stallion details.... Please be patient...
The site and the idea are really a work in progress and the more feedback I get the better it will be in the next few days and hopefully if all goes really well next year will be even better...so watch out for news about next years auction.....
for all stallion owners that would love to donate a breeding ... it is most certainly not too late... all I need is for you to email me witht he following info...:

a picture or two of the stallion....
your website address (do you have one???) if not then a contact person along with email address (just incase someone want to ask any questions)

| I suggested location too Sue, it would really help me to see which stallions I could use much more easily than trying to track down the stallions location. There are also stallions from other websites, so it would really help. |

I have emailed Marie-ann with Taj's details, so hopefully he will be on the Stallion Auction soon. I forgot to add my location, we are in Hertfordshire and at the moment can only offer natural covering. If anyone wants to see him "au naturel" and "check out" the place before they bid, visitors are always welcome, just phone or email first. I also have 4 of his offspring here to see.
Good luck everyone if you are bidding, and I hope this auction raises bucketloads of money for such a worthy cause.

Great idea to raise money for charity and nice selection of stallions available too, but it can be quite expensive to use a stallions standing abroad which is maybe why some of them haven't attracted any bids!
Inspite of saying I am only putting 2 mares in foal this year I did see one stallion who I have always liked and couldn't resist bidding although I doubt I'll be successful....these auctions are so addictive!

Carla, if I did any breeding I would love to use Taj.
It would be Absolute heaven to have a, = .... your and my boys bloodline.
If only I were younger, having six wouldnt be any problem then. |

I think its a great idea - my Tsunami Auction foal is due in a couple of months, it will be my first purebred foal after breeding part breds from my mares for a while.
Will definately bid on one or two..... but which ones?! LOL  |

Thanks for that Pat, I know exactly what you mean!! He is definitely a horse in a million and I am so lucky to have him here. I loved my old stallion so much, and if I had to replace him, Taj would be the only candidate!!
Would love you to come and see him, he never disappoints, he is everything you could ask for in an Arabian - he is a gentleman, a rogue, a mud magnet, but always looks impressive!!! If you are ever down this way, please pop in. If not, I may bring him to the Nationals when he's a Veteran (long wait though).

| Just wanted to add that the successful mare to visit Ffatal as a result of winning the auction will be our ' guest' at Peakland Arabians and receive free board and lodgings until scanned pregnant. We use one of the countrys finest stud vets www.newcombeandeast.co.uk whose charges are incredibly reasonable for the exceptional service given. Good luck and ffrantic bidding !! |

I to will donate free bed, breakfast and evening meal for the first four weeks to the successfull bidders mare, as I did with the Tsunami Auction.
The only costs incured to the mare owner will be vets fees, farrier etc.
Please note El Sahir stands in the North West just outside Manchester/Bolton and he is approx. 15.1hh
This is a great charity and it has touched so many of us in one form or another, GET BIDDING |

I have e-mailed Marie-ann and also posted details for my stallion page on the other website but it has not been updated and I have not heard from Marie-ann.
I have someone from sothern France who wants to use him but with frozen semen so I will try and persuade Andre to do the "bizz" with him and see the costs of getting him checked to see if his semen will freeze; not straightforward but it would be nice to use him so the money could go to Breast Cancer Research.
