Hi All, Just wondering if anyone can help me trace this mare, Mozaic, by Pakistan out of Mahrusa foaled around 1994. She is the dam of my mare who was bred at Lodge Farm and when she was weaned Mozaic was exported to Jordan I believe around July 1998. I have spoken to Emma who hasn't thrown any light on the subject so thought that maybe someone on here may know of her whereabouts or have any pics or info.... she seems to have vanished without a trace.
Thanks, Jackie. x

Jackie the grey in my sig is by Pakistan.
He is one of the six Pakistans bred at Lodge farm.

He is one of the kindest, most loving horses, I have ever met.
His mum was straight Spanish though, and they are renowned for lovely temprements. Is your mare the same??

I can see she Mozaic had a colt in 2001 in the UAE.

Perhaps Jane, (Vygoda)will have all the stud books over there. Maybe Jane will be able to find out more.??
Why not put a FAO for her.

Hi Pat,
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if Mozaic was bred at Lodge farm, I guess it stands a chance that she was I will ask Emma.
Can you please tell me where you saw that Mozaic had a colt foal in 2001 as I cant find any info about her anywhere, and can you also tell me please who Jane is? Would love to contact her.
With regards to Muzzys temperment!! She is loving but she is also very pushy and has very little respect for her fellow humans and I have to be very strict with her or she will just walk all over me (and I mean that quite literally!!). Saying that, in unfamilliar surroundings she seems to cling to me like a child for reassurance and then is really sweet.
Thanks for your help Pat.
Jackie. x

You are most Welcome, and Yes she was bred by lodge farm.

Pakistan only covered 6 mares, (I beleive)??, whilst he was here, for slightly less than the covering season.
The prodigy of Mozaic is listed on the data base. Ofcourse it is only as accuarate and up to date as the stud books of the country concerned.

Mozcata 1998 by Mascat
AH Theeban2001 by the crusader son Ghaseeb bred by,
HH SH Ammar bin Humaid bin Rashid al Nuaimi.

Email me with any questions, and I will forward it to Jane. My email is in my profile under all the bumpff. Email doesnt work, via here for me very often. Its an aol thing!!

Jackie,

Put an FAO here or on SE for Princess Alia of Jordan. I think she might be able to help with early info after Mozaic's export.

I will also have a look through the UAE studbooks and let you know anything I find out from them about Mozaic and her progeny.

Hi Jackie

Have just worked out that your mare is by Mascat, and that you are friends with Carla. I saw her a few years back at Carla's show I think? If I'm right I think we spoke as my mare's by Mascat.

Your mare sounds exactly like mine. She is an absolute nightmare at home but when I used to go to endurance rides she would be so much better behaved in hand there. She is pushy and you definately have to make sure you keep her in her place or she can be dangerous.

Hope you're considering the showing clinic in our area so can have a proper look at her then!!

Liv

Hi Liv,
I have the worst memory but was it you that has the part bred? They must get their manic disposition through their dads side, allthough from what I can gather Mascat was quite an angel!!! What is the showing clinic and when and where? I have a pic of Hetepka who is also by Mascat and the likness between her and Muz is amazing.
I will try to put it on here for you to see.

Jackie

Yes, she is part bred but she has such a small percentage of TB that she is too arab-like. She is the grey mare in my sig pics. You can't see her that well but she looks quite similar to your mare. Are you going to do any endurance with Muz as I thought you were considering it when I spoke to you?

I have seen Hetepka at Towerlands (I think 2005, or maybe the year before). She is lovely too. My mare has injured her suspensory ligament so cannot compete at endurance now, but she really was amazing at it. She would never have been any good in the show ring, always got to be doing something at high speed!

Showing Clinic is just being investigated at the moment. Am trying to get a response from Lordsbridge (Barton) so we can work out if it's going to be there, Norton Heath, or Writtle. Will keep you informed.

Please do post the pic of Hetepka as always like to have a look at Mascat's offspring.

Liv

Hi Liv,
Hope this pic of Hetepka works. Muz is very simelar to her but shes not so dappled. I remember seeing her at one of the lodge farm sales a few years ago as an un-backed mare. I believe it was her that had quite severe scarring to the front of one of her hocks.
I havn't done any endurance with Muz yet have been taking it very slowly with her training and did our first dressage and ridden showing this year getting 3rd and 4th in dressage and two firsts in the ridden showing. Hoping to do a few real Arab shows this year so watch this space......

Mozaic is in the 1999 U.A.E stud book (Volume 6) but not in any subsequent stud books, owned by Sheikh Ammar Al Nuaimi of Ajman, U.A.E.

I can find no progeny listed for her.

Jak, I have already suggested to Liv that Muz would be a very good novice ridden example for the proposed show clinic (sorry mate, really should have asked you first!!!). Don't worry, if it happens you are not alone, I have offered Dolly and Trinny as in-hand examples!!!

Vygoda's info is fascinating, would love to know what happened to Mozaic, did she die or was she exported???

Carla, xx.

Thanks for the pic. Think I might have seen it before but can't remember where!

Good luck with the dressage.
