I want to thank admin for their most wonderful service - I am apparently the poster that posts the most! I just love & am totally amazed at being able to do this through Arabian Lines!!! Paula - you've made me feel VERY ashamed reading your post about us lot taking - but not giving back - slapped wrists all round!! I'm going to get my head into gear & write about any rides I get to next year & will take advice from Roseanne etc!!!
Judith - chastised!!

I sometimes think 'I should do a report on a show that I go to' but in reality I know that when I'm at a show, I'm just too busy to take alot of notice about what else is going on!! I think alot of people also think, I wouldn't be good enough to be able to write an article, I don't know enough etc. Saying that, I would be more than happy to do any proof reading, if that is of any use??! |

Oh I'll post then! Well done you ol' gas bag!
Very good point you just made. As a New Years resolution why not everyone here write an article about their experiences with Arabians???? Problems you've had and got over with your horse A day on the show circuit A day of endurance, show jumping,la trec, training, dressage etc How your horse has helped you with other things...anythingthat you think others might like to see or the sort of thing you would like to see. Just some photos and a write up. Then Paula can go through it and use it and if she gets too much for the next mag she can use it on the one after. There was someone who posted on here months back and I can't remember who it was..but she did all sorts with her arab from trick training, jumping, racing, dressage and her father used to drive arabs. She put up some fab photos,if you know who you are i would love to see an article by you
...and judith...... CONGRATULATIONS!!! |

I will do my best to submit an article, maybe something about conception to birth and further!!! (Hey Paula, you will have more articles than you can shake a stick at!!!!). Will also promise to advertise my stallion on here first and foremost when I get some decent "spring" photos (if I can ever de-mud him!!).
This is such a fantastic sight, I feel that we should support "The Team" in any way possible.

Re-iterating what Judith said - thanks for the greast site Paula. I would happily proof read articles and have no excuse for not writing myself other than my assumption than most people who submit articles/post threads seem to be mainly interested in breeding/showing/showresults/new stallions - this seems to be reflected by the number of people who respond to threads about topics like endurance/natural horsemanship/western/le trec etc rather than threads about breeding/showing.
Having said that, I know that there must be lots of people like me who read all the articles here (and in the other mag) avidly, even though I've no idea who half the horses being described in the show results, are. I love looking at the beautiful pictures even though I'm never going to use any of the gorgeous stallions, but it does make me think that most of the arab owners must keep their horses in more opulent conditions than I keep my family!!
I often read through my old mags and what really interests me are the articles about what people do with their horses outside of the show scene - interesting trail/endurance rides, useful training hints, personal experiences , sacrifices people make to keep their arabs. I wonder if like me a lot of other readers think they have nothing interesting that anyone else would want to read about - when actually it's quite often the people who are struggling on a shoe string, juggling jobs and families to keep their horses and competing or doing things with their horses very locally, who have stories that capture people's imaginations.
Nick Arnold has been making some good points recently about encouraging amateur l horse owners to sell themselves and talk about achievements - I don't compete with my mare but would happily write an article, help anybody else or do any proof reading - Deboniks you're right, we should all do it. |

Hi paula
FAB site and i cant waite to see the next magazine. you have done some lovely designs on our adverts and the horses look FAB. Paula i am not at home at the moment but will give you a call when i am back and if you need any help then i would be glad to do so.
There are some really well known people on the site now perhaps they might write an article for the magazine on showing/training etc.
Tks again paula for a very nice site speak soon.

I loved Nick's 'Enter the Dragon' in the old Arabian Link. It's great to get an insight as to what goes on at the well known studs, especially for the one horse owner who can only dream about what it might be like . I would love it if one of the studs would write about a typical day at their stud, maybe even a typical show day taking us through from start to finish.

Well done Judith on your Crown as the poster with the mostest!! You should be fine writing a good chatty article. And your photos are good as we've seen on the Tea and Coffee section. Shout if you want anything!! I'd love a regular 'before and after' feature where people show their horses either as youngsters and then grown up, or during the winter/before being show prepared/before being fittened up and then ready for a show! It would be mainly picture led so people only had to send in their photos with the essential information to make a really interesting piece without having to write loads.
Paula: I am just back from a weekend away and have work until Thursday so I can't see myself getting the Trec article to you in time. How often is the AL Mag? You're welcome to send me proof-reading if you have any overflow.
