If it's really urgent and free to a good home? I think it's ok to put an add in the WANTED page?(home wanted?) It's different if you're selling him |

Hi all,
Thanks for all your emails, i am still looking for a home for this boy. For some time now i have realised this boy would be looking for a new home as the turnout is nothing in winter at my yard and what with being on a communial yard i didnt feel it was fair on him being cooped up with the mares all day. Dispite this limit he is such a lovely boy and will be very sad to see him go but would find it near on impossible to move to another yard that could cater for 4 mares and 1 stallion and with winter turnout. Although we have a horse walker here, he isnt so keen and so the only time he is really getting out of his stable is when i return from work and walk him up and down the lane as long as i can, however as the nights are drawing in this is also proving more difficult. The owner is unable to take him at present due to personal reasons and therefore im unsure what else to do and open to offers with him.
As he was my first stallion and has taught me so much i am very attached and feel very upset for him, so good long term home is the priority for this boy. |

I have jsut spoken with Paula and do have full permission to post this thread, as he has been offered on the wanted section for quite sometime but as winter is setting in and the fields are closing desperate measures to find this boy a loving home for life. He is not being offered for sale but would like a long term perminant home with contract.
Thanks all for your help |

this is just a thought which might be a solution..have you thought of a vasectomy for your boy?? he could then live with your mares without you having the worry of unwanted foals, and it would mean he would not have to be kept/managed as an entire...it would also be far less traumatic than gelding. good luck. suyen |

I really wouldnt concider this an option, at the age of 24 i dont thnk it would be fair on him if he suvived the sedation.
