Hi MIke, they should be grateful to people who go to the trouble of bringing new blood in AND Sharing it. I believe it could have been worse - as much as £350 per horse. Thanks for support anyway Mike its appreciated.

Hi Helen, I too was instructed to pay for bloodtyping, DNA testing etc by the AHS even though the horses i imported had it done previously. I found that the horses i imported had even been microchipped and were up to date on all vaccines, but, had to do it all again. The AHS say it is a requirement as the horse in the yard may not be the horse on the registration papers as this has happened in the past. Cannot get them to reconsider, so alot of time and further expense later, it was done and they are happy!

The name Blackbridge Arabians live above a blackbridge.Funnily enough it as been here for over a hundred years and next month it is being replaced by a concrete and stone version As for naming horses we are not great lovers of prefix just think foals are individual not number plates Naming them can be fun we have named one after a number plate GIL JOHARA we have a personal plate with GIL so it is now on the horsebox. And the latest started out as bit of fun and stuck ZEEZEETOP after the rockband The DRAGON came about when we were writing for the Arabianlink Emrys Rhod Barney and Jo Miles were at our house and we were drinking a wee drop and thinking for a name for hours and on came Bruce Lee in yes Enter the Dragon what better omen and a Welsh connection. Exit the Dragon

Yes MO, they do seem to always get their way, A friend of mine sent her stallion abroad on lease and when he came home she had to pay a re registration fee, the horse never left her ownership!, and have him re tested dna , all that jazz.I know Im not alone but it stinks! Come back Loofah,( I think they may be ready now)

I was thinking the same thought Helen!!...i can see where they are coming from with the validity check, but the fee seems way too high...i'm sure the dna check cant be that expensive?? Maybe they should weight it by fining people heavily if they DO try to be fraudulent....ECAHO have a web-site.... suyen. |

The name Windsong is after a song by John Denver which has wonderful words to describe all the romantic imagery of the wind...including "A white stallion running..." how prophetic those words were to be.I ended up with a white stallion!! Chinook is a Native American name for the warm wind that blows across the great Praries, and my wonderful chestnut mare I bought when she was 7, did all events with her, won everything thanks to her, and she was put down six months ago 23 years after I had bought her.She lies at rest on a hill side overlooking her favourite field and near her daughter and grandaughters grazing paddock. Sometimes I spend a quiet moment up there.
