Does anyone know what the other half of Arden Domino's breeding was? Arden Domino was I believe a registered riding pony mare by Blue Domino out of mare called Ardmay, also a registered riding pony. Does anyone know what Ardmays' breeding was? I'd love to fill this gap in a pedigree.

My horse has Blue Domino in his pedigree and he was out of Rissalix and Niseyra.

Hi Michelle
Arden Domino: (1960)chestnut, is in Vol 6 of the PBA register bred by Mrs Glenda Spooner. I am doing some research on Ardmay, and from her name I wouldn't be surprised if she was by Mrs Spooner's well known T.B pony stallion, Ardencaple GSB.
I'll be back as soon as I can.

Hi Michelle
Just to keep you in the picture. I suddenly realised that Domino was the dam of Piran John Halifax, so have contacted the person who bred him (I do know her) and she is getting back to me. Fingers crossed!

That's the connection to my mare - Piran John Halifax! Plus Piran Camilla (her second dam) was also out of Arden Domino.
Fingers and toes crossed,

Michelle

Managed to contact Glenda Spooners grand daughter (I think) and she was sure that Ardmay was by Ardencaple, and will try to remember the Dam. In the meantime, the NPS will do a search in their archives for £10.00 to see if anything is there - maybe worth a try. I'll keep trying, and am still waiting for a reply from the breeders of John Halifax.

Hi Lynda.

Wasnt Piran John Halifax Camilla Shucks 14.2 show pony years ago. If so it was stabled just up the road from here and Camilla used to ride out with my daughter Juliana.

Thanks Lynda.

I will try to post some photos of my two ponies, who are descendants of Blue Domino, plus a picture of another descended from Algol, (couldn't miss her out!).

I think you may be right about Camilla Shuck riding John Halifax, any info on his dam's maternal side. ie. Arden Domino by Bue Domino out of Ardmay, who I think is by Ardencaple but don't know who she was out of, and what is worse is I'm sure there is a photo of Ardmay in an old NPS Magazine.

Libby - not sure how to take that!! Sly is a very substantial Arab - & was quite fit when photos were taken (this summer)! Hes an amazing horse to sit on - a very four square Arab! The bay Razy Rowan(Rameed/Rumbolds Contessa) is also a Blue Domino boy!
