By the bye...Don Diego is a Galero son out of the Spanish National Champion Mare and World Champion Mare Hezina by Jacio. And your gelding Caballo de Fuego is out of Estallida de Fuego (Procyon x Semiha by Pachaka) Semiha is a double Zancudo bred mare which tails to the prestigious Mare Family Line of Kebrebassa known in Spanish breeding circles as a mare line which consistantly progeny with well formed necks and driving hock action. I owned Samiha's full sister-in-blood, *Merbat. Her dam and Samiha's dam were full sisters and their sire was Pachaka. *Merbat was not a very big mare, maybe 14.1 HH plus a little but she was a power packed little gal with a huge eye, long beautifully formed neck and great hock action with alot of blow and snort. Johnny Johnston said she was one of the easiest horses he had ever had in a photo shoot. Otherwise when not on call to do her show, *Merbat was one of those in-the -pocket arabians with a gentle nature and willingness to please. I can certainly imagine her "sister" Samiha being very much the same way and I know Don Diego was. His temperment is one of his greatest assets. If Khabire is anything like his dam line ( and his size and hardiness makes me think that he is) you should be very successful in the endurance world. May you have many many happy miles with him!

Found your posting interesting, and about the Theft, since about 14 years ago we had horses stolen from the area I lived in and it started a Horsewatch group that eventually went National and involved all 54 police forces, the recovery rate for the stolen horses at that time, never got above 70%, and the police used to think we were doing well to recover the amount we did, But the stallion you report about was special and most likely a special theft as well, a bit like Shergar.
I wanted to add to your posting that Emma Maxwell has sent quite a few photo's of their horses, as many were missing pictures from the allbreedspedigree site, I have Emma's photo's of Mumeera, Muzri and some of the others..and I also wonder if you might be interested, in the Lodge Farm horses,Posting..if you have not already seen it..Emma sorted out quite a few pictures for us, including Kazra El Saghira, Kahramana. there are still many horses missing photo's that we would like to see..including Esperada(1971) and Esperanda.... PS. Also checkout the Hejaz Posting for pictures.... |
