I've been asked to post this for Karen Moore - shes tried to register but failed to get onto AL?
"I bought my gelding a year ago. His name is Faraoun & he is by Mamluk & out of Farosa. He was bred by Al Waha & I have spoken to both Kathy Etherington & Kane Kadi who have been very helpful. He was foaled in 1991 & I now know he was backed & gelded in 1996 & sold to Adonis & Jackie Barrak who bought a number of horses from Al Waha & did classical schoolwork with them in or around Dorking.
He was sold to Caroline Woolfrey sometime during 2003. Apparently she only rode him a handful of times & then left him in the field for 18 months. I never met her & he was sold on her behalf by one of the other livery owners at the yard where she kept him near East Grinstead. Her knowledge was limited but she understood that he had come from the Dorking area & had - she tought - possibly been used to give lessons but not in a traditional riding school.
It does rather sound as though Adonis & Jackie Barrak had him for the whole seven years between leaving Al Waha & being purchased by Caroline Woolfrey. I would love to get in touch with them & find out exactly what he did with them but I havent had any success.
I have contacted the livery owner who sold me Faraoun but she is no longer in touch with Caroline Woolfrey & doesn't have a contact number or address. She did recall that Caroline used to have lessons at Orchard Cottage Riding Stables in Surrey & that her instructor (Lin/Linda) helped her with the purchase of Faraoun & that he belonged to one of her friends or a friend of a friend. I have contacted Orchard Cottage & the lady who answered the phone was going to pass my number to the instructor but I never heard any more.

Can't help you with your boy I'm afraid but I did know his mum and half sisters, as Libby says they are a lovely family. Good luck, hope you find the info you want.

Very many thanks for this. Only just picked it up as my original post (via Judith) was in April so I had really given up all hope. Have emailed Carmel and eagerly await her reply!
It is me (Karen) who is looking for the information. Judith very kindly posted my request when I had problems registering on AL. I have sent an email to the address which Ann provided but - so far - no reply.
