Posted - 16 Oct 2014 : 8:41:24 PM Hi I haven't posted on here for ages. I have had my great mare Ellie for 4 years now, which is hard to believe. As it was not raining much yesterday we cleaned her up and took a few pictures:-
Heres her flying canter:-
and her flying trot:-
and showing just how clean her mane is for this moment only:-
and her typical expression:-
She thoroughly enjoyed herself! Might even polish her up again sometime next year... |

Posted - 17 Oct 2014 : 7:43:36 PM Thanks for your lovely comments . I'd always loved the fleabitten look but I'm glad it's not just me. She's been a great horse for me, loves hacking, taken her on holiday in Wales riding between b&bs, always very exciting to jump, and will even have a go at dressage, albeit in a spirit of cooperation rather than submission! People thought I was odd to want an Arab as my first horse (in my forties), but she's been nothing but a joy. |

Posted - 16 Oct 2014 : 10:36:15 PM She is 15, amazingly. She had a few pink dappled left when I got her at 11, but now it's fleabitten all the way, particularly in the summer. I'm very fond of them. I don't think she will ever grow up though, she has definite teenager personality traits: loves the unexpected, up for anything, easily bored, brave as anything, but prefers things to be her idea. Puts the geldings in their place too. She's great fun. |
