I leased a well bred TB mare with a fencing injury on a hind leg, to breed an Anglo, but due to a tendon thickening in front, I had her prostaglandin jabbed on day 10 post covering as me/vet wasn't sure if she had a tendon injury, swelling went back down but I send her home to the old lady that owns her, and forgot all about it... In June when I was in Denmark I got a text if it was possible she was in foal, my reply was 'no' because I jabbed her on day 10 and if you do so before day 42 the mare should abort if she is pregnant... next day I got a phone call 'there's a foal in her field'
So here he is my first attempt of breeding an Anglo Arab, by TU Champion out of Double Illusion..... Mare owner has bred TB for years and she thinks he is the best foal she has had, I'm reg breeder, she is the reg owner... Here he is DAWN ILLUSION, 3 months old.
(he moves VERY well but difficult to make noises and take pictures of him when his dam, gand dam and 2 sheep also are hooling around)

Posted - 20 Oct 2013 : 6:14:27 PM Pleased to say I today talked to mare owner and this little man have now been sold to a showing home, he will be out and about in hand before he starts his ridden work, and with a bit of luck new owner might just qualify him for HOYS like she has done with her purebred

Posted - 05 Oct 2013 : 10:10:11 AM Thank you all I do think he ended up like he should on paper so happy breeder.
Mare owner wanted to keep him, so she is going to pay me TU Champions stud fee and keep the foal (that will recover a little of what I have spend on her mare)... well that was the plan because now she wants to sell him at weaning as he really is too good to stand in the field (and I agree), she is in her 70s so I think we should have just offered him up for sale from the start, but hopefully he shouldn't be too difficult to find a nice home for, he should make a VERY nice ridden horse. I am reg breeder, she is first reg owner as she wanted to keep him (thought I haven't had my stud fee yet).
She would like me to take the mare back here on more or less permanent breeding loan, but the mare cant live in a heard, she has to have just one horse with her (unless she is lowest in the group), so however tempted I am as I think the colt is nice, I have decided to say no, all my girls live together most of the year so it will cause me a lot of extra work having a mare like that.
So if anyone fancy making one like this yourself, mare is available and you know where Champs is
As mare owner was a TB breeder in her younger years (bred the dam and her dam), foal has Illusion after his dam and Dawn is due to 3 things, owner LOVES Dawn Run, he was born at dawn, and I wanted to keep the Polish tradition of mares first letter even though he isn't mine. I agreed not to call him Little as he is an Anglo and as I may be breeder on paper but have never really had anything to do with him after birth, apart from seeing him last Saturday and taking the pictures.
