Posted - 25 Sep 2013 : 8:07:00 PM For those of us that might not check out the Endurance Forum on here, please do go and read Rosyrider's 2013 Red Dragon fundraising post. The ESAF are doing amazing work getting basic rations and health care to the animals suffering due to the difficult ongoing political situation in Egypt, which is obviously severely affecting their owners' livelihood. Sue has now added photos, which I think make it very clear just how much any help we can give is needed and appreciated. AL has done sterling work in the past to raise money for this cause, and those photos are heartbreaking.
Hope Sue doesn't mind me drawing attention to her post, but it's a great way to raise money, and it's fun to sponsor a horse and see how they do at the Red Dragon, which is a tough ride. |

Posted - 27 Sep 2013 : 09:00:40 AM Thank You Callisto for bringing this to the attention of the rest of Arabian Lines. I've just almost finished adding the photo's of the last few months, July, August & September to 21st. for anyone to see who wishes to se just where the money goes. I pecifically asked ESAF to direct this money to the horses, as they also deal with small animals, and when ESMA gave up feeding the horses in late 2011 (November) I decided to send any money direct to ESAF because they have their own Vets (6), Attend the Pyramid Area with their Mobil Clinic and this way the Horses (any number of horses), Donkeys & Camels would benefit from these feed and treatment days, which is about 2 or 3 times a week. It started by them asking me what I wanted to be done with these funds. I plugged for the horses (closest to my heart) and they agreed. I also asked if when they went out with the mobile clinic would it be possible to offer owners treatment for their horses etc., would it also be possible to take or order Greens so that they could also eat at the same time,'No problem' and since December 2012 they've also taken greens with them. (Similar to what had already gone on with ESMA ( but ESMA got into difficulty and had to pull out after November 2011).and they told me that greens were cheap and affordable. ESAF is the only charity in this area that feed the horses, Donkeys & Camels and they agreed to feed them Greens on Mobile Clinic days. (They have a special day to feed & Treat the Camels) for any owners who need the vet or treatment they can attend. (The Brooke UK refused to feed the horses they only offer treatment and putting horses down-PTS is another big problem).
ESAF send me all the up today information and keep me informed. The money I send goes a long way to helping and can mean life or death to the owners and their families there, who have lost their income from tourism and even worse. Many horses have being lost due to the lack of income and the troubles there. No money, No work, No Food.
Join me for the third year and lets give ESAF( Egyptian Society of Animal Friends) a really good effort so they can continue to feed these Horses, Donkeys and the 900 or so Camels in the area and provide the necessary treatment they need. Thank you. ESAF (Egyption Society of Animal Friends) credit me with the effort by stating these funds have come from Sue Evans and the UK supporters. Thank You Sue Evans (Rosy Rider). if anyone has any questions they would like to ask me please send me a message or write in on this post. (as there are other things going on in Egypt at this time). Now go to Endurance and look at the pictures. |
