Posted - 12 Jul 2012 : 2:02:28 PM I am lucky to have had quite a few Rosettes over the years. They all hold such memories. Today I am having a clear out but I cannot bear to part with them. I usually put the current years on display over the mantlepiece for a week or two but what to do with them afterwards? What does everyone else do? Any ideas as to nice ways to display/ keep them or where to display them inside or outside ....house...tack room....stable??? |

Posted - 13 Jul 2012 : 07:24:43 AM My most special ones are in the living room, my pretty special ones are individually hung in the stable and the rest are hung from old haynets also then hung in the stable. I am lucky that my horses don't touch them. Yes they get covered in dust but I prefer that to them being a box.
Old haynets are great to hang them from. |

Posted - 12 Jul 2012 : 11:26:44 PM I got some large tie boxes from my mother-in-law (she used to work in a gents outfitters and the boxes were both deep enough and long enough to take my old rosettes and keep them safe. They live in these boxes in the cupboard under our stairs at the moment! I'm working on filling the walls in our office again, but once I've filled the space, then they'll come down and be put into another tie box for safety.

Posted - 12 Jul 2012 : 11:04:21 PM I have had boxes full from my showjumping days, Im affraid they have all gone to rosette heaven by now... memories are still in my head I do not need a piece of silk and carboard to remember. first they were reduced to special ones only like CSI shows but they too went in the bin in time. |

Posted - 12 Jul 2012 : 10:52:41 PM I have a large box display frame 2'6" square with memorable ones in, that's on the kitchen wall. I put the year's collection on a metalwork tree sculpture that's on a different kitchen wall, and then they go into shoeboxes dating back to 1975. Every one has where/who/when/what on the back, and it brings back so many amazing memories when you go through them (every few years or so).
If it wasn't for my husband I would probably have filled the walls of the downstairs loo with them, but he isn't keen on the idea |

Posted - 12 Jul 2012 : 7:32:21 PM I have cork boards in the hall and also wires high up on either side with rosettes hanging on them. I had to have a sort out when I ran out of space but my rosettes all mean such a lot to me and have such happy memories that anything below 3rd or really faded and tatty is carefully put away in the loft in plastic storage boxes - the shallow sort designed to fit under the bed. I always used to put the current year's rosettes on the dresser hooked into the cups, vases etc. However, in 2009, just before I became too ill to go out and just before we lost Jim, we had a fabulous weekend with Red and Jim at a 2 day show and then one more show with Red. The rosettes from those 3 shows (6 firsts, 2 seconds, 2 thirds, 1 Championship, 2 Reserve Chamionships) now live on the dresser permanently as a reminder of happy days.
This was going to be my first full showing season since 2008. Just received notification of yet another cancellation! |

We have cork boards all over my daughters bedroom walls, which look fab with rossettes, sashes, etc.
They have been won by myself and my daughter but they have a special in her room. |

Posted - 12 Jul 2012 : 2:42:08 PM I've been very luck and collected quite a few over the years, they have been put on cork boards and hung on the walls. I've just moved house and not sure where to put them so I'd be really interested in finding out what others do.
