Posted - 05 Feb 2012 : 7:24:24 PM Im pleased to say went very well. Storm is rising 3 this year and only been long reined 3 times at end of last summer. He did very well today. Steering was a bit wobbly at first, to be expected then off we went round the school changing rein, doing circles, stopping and walking at a good pace. We did have a few moments of not wanting to stand, being stroppy, pawing the ground and a bit nappy at the gate but he did move past it reluctantly. Didnt help that Velvet was shouting, threatening to commit suicide if he didnt come back..damn mare! Next time Ill take him into the outdoor out of earshot. |

Posted - 05 Feb 2012 : 10:04:50 PM Oh well done. I love long reining as its a great way to progress your groundwork. Nips problems in the bud quickly before they become an issue. Good luck with your future training. |
