Posted - 03 Feb 2012 : 2:05:34 PM What little things does your babies do to make you smile. Milo is very intelligent he loves touching things and feeling the textures againt his nose. At the min he has a ball hanging off the ceiling, a large inflated ball on the floor a large lickit and a plastic bottle. The large ball he nudges it, he kickes it forward with his knees and pulls it back to himself. He nudge it to me wanting me to kick it back to him. he throws his bottle about, uses his lickit to stand on to see over the stable wall to the horse next door. the ball on the rope he swings it around, he rears up and kick it with his hoof and last night for the first i caught him banging it off the stable roof. Hes worked out if he lines the ball up that its resting on a certain place on his rump then does a small buck then a large buck it bounces off the roof with some bang and he runs to the back of the stable so as not to get hit with the rebound. Poor sasha is going to have a heart attack, gizzy doesn't even like walking by his stable seeing all the things in it.

Posted - 04 Feb 2012 : 2:35:47 PM Just trial and error - we've given them new wood with green under the bark, but they also like old dried out stuff. Large enough to stay still when they have a chew, but not so big it can scare them if they pick it up!

Posted - 04 Feb 2012 : 11:29:44 AM Mrs Vlacq i am going to try logs for mine, one is 3.5months old and the other a week old and as its so cold they are spending quite a lot of time indoors, they do go out every day for an hour or so but maybe this will stop them getting bored, what size logs and type do you put in, we have a small wood with plenty of logs i can use.

Posted - 03 Feb 2012 : 10:59:21 PM it's around this time they learn to buck at haynets, or whip them around on their hangers and dash underneath for a really good back-scratch. They look so funny with a massive haynet on their backs, contorting themselves down the wall for leverage! and they're moulting so you end up with a furry greasy clump at bottom of net Ours are currently loving their logs - pulling bark off, tumbling them around the rubber mats etc

Posted - 03 Feb 2012 : 6:21:38 PM i will try sarahjo my sister was up today laughing at him and said i should get a video of him. You could watch him all day hes hilarious at times at least he puts a smile on your face, its funny how they learn half the stuff as he certainly isn't learning anything of the mares. You just don't know what he will be up to next but you can trust him that even while hes bouncing round his stable he won't kick you.
