Is there any? They cost quite alot for something you can only use once.

Velvs cut has now got proud flesh so Im putting on fuciderm, but I need to put a 'pad' and then a bandage that has slight pressure to reduce it.

Its getting changed once a day. I used up all mine and the ones I..ahem...borrowed from the hospital.

The proud flesh isnt 'cuttable' as its not protruding enough but its about the size of a 10p.

Very frustrating!

Anything padded under the bandage would be ok - what about taking a pair of scissors to a disposable nappy to flatten it out? or cut up an old (not too bulky) numnah? Or any other flat quilted thing you have to hand - preferably faced with cotton - less slippery and sweaty than nylon. I'm sure the vet gamgee would be ok in the meantime.

Ive got stable bandages, which I normally use in winter as her legs swell. Ive also got fybagee (sp?) to put under the bandages. Only prob is, I chucked it from last year cos they were well worn and bought new stuff, its crap! It keeps sliding down the leg with her box walking carry on.
You think I could use vet gamgee under the stable bandages? Ive still got quite a bit of that, til I sort something else out. I worry about causing uneven pressure.
Ill be checking out, good ol ebay and a friend told me of a shop that sells cohesive ones for £1, so Ill head there on Tuesday when Im off.

Vik my mates and i club together and buy them from , if there are a few of you, you can buy a job lot then split them between yourselves , works out a lot cheaper, may not be any good to you this time but worth thinking about for the future, but of course if you stock up on them you probably won,t need them until then Mrs Vlacq,s idea sounds a good option, we did something similar a few weeks ago when we ran out.

Don't know if you've tried ebay for vetwrap? You can often buy it a lot cheaper on there, otherwise Mrs Vlacq's method is what I'd go for.

We had to do similar with a mare here, a hind leg injury.
In the end I used a pad with the cream, a slice of cotton wool, then a stable wrap pad - we have some with a tubular quilt and a smooth side that were ideal. Piece of duct tape to hold sides of pad together - easily removeable, and pad goes in wash wen you change dressing.
And lastly a tail bandage/stable bandage - something with a bit of stretch in it. If she was being turned out I would duct tape over the tie tapes so is coudlnt' come loose and terrify her.
Worked really well, you'll soon get the pressure right
