Posted - 17 Sep 2011 : 12:39:26 PM Stunning amazing wow to watch Poppy a Cleveland Bay super old lady of 24 still fit and did dressage moves for fun in the school was kicked this morning, Poppy was Baz's nanny horse last winter kept him safe and i think showed him how to stay out of trouble, if Baz was not in the mood she was the only other horse i would go for a lovely cuddle. We will all miss her terribly please send some strength to her owner who has a little boy to stay strong for.
The vet was amazing this was my first time staying with and it was so calm peaceful and respectful. |

Posted - 18 Sep 2011 : 5:11:36 PM Just hug her when she cries, listen when she wants to talk and reminisce, share your memories of dear Poppy. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but however much we try to do our best for our horses we can't protect them from every possible harm. I agree the second day can be worse when it hits home. Hugs to you both. |

Posted - 17 Sep 2011 : 5:54:23 PM How very sad - bless Poppy and heartfelt sympathy to her poor owner; I know how she is feeling. Always harder when unexpected due to sudden accident or illness, I think. I was very apprehensive the first time I stayed with a friend and her horse for the vet but it was so peaceful that you couldn't have asked for a kinder end to a lovely life. Well done you for coping, and hugs for you for you too have lost a friend. |
