Posted - 14 Sep 2011 : 10:50:37 PM Went down to poopick today and noticed that when Kirstie went to try and roll she would get down so far and look like she was in pain and get up again, she did this three times before she finally got down and had a good roll. She then followed me with her neck stretched straight out( not Upwards) and then flicked her head. She normally snakes her neck but that is usually when she isn't getting her own way. The chiropractor showed me how to check for soreness and she is sore in the same place as before. She must have pulled something today as when I got upthere was told she had thrown an absolute flid at a shetland being walked in hand past her field(she thinks they are strange creatures) Another visit and hopefully all better. Fed up of not being able to ride Since she has been backed she has had more time off than in work. So I have to offer free to good home- good home not essential A 14.2hh stroppy mare who is spoilt rotten, needs vet on speed dial and would like someone who can spend at least three hours a day just scratching her. Mary Wouldn't really get rid of her.

Posted - 15 Sep 2011 : 10:55:10 AM Well vet came out for a final check on the legs today all good should only have a small scar. She checked her over and has saidshe is definitivelysore in her neck she didn't want to turn in a tight circle and backing up wasn't easy. She has said to see what the chiropractor says on Wed and if problem persists she will need to have her neck xrayed as she thinks she has fallen on her head at some point. Fingers crossed she will be ok after Wed |

Posted - 15 Sep 2011 : 12:15:59 AM Sometimes it is just so frustrating - hoping she's back to her best asap. Had 3 months of this with the yellow pony earlier this year - (who I'd started competing because Lily had thrown a splint and was on field rest). He is absolutely fine now, but spent weeks with intermittant lameness and sitting on him worrying about whether he was lame or not. |
