Posted - 04 Sep 2011 : 12:03:19 PM Shaikh al Naboo, Booey to his friends (Egyptian Khaleef (Orashaan/Rafisa by AK el Sennari) out of Lavina (Vakusko/La Maja).
Lavina is the mare Suzanna bought from me (she now resides in France) and is the dam of Paulette's Aravina so Ari is a half sister to Booey.
Yesterday at a local show he won the ridden and in-hand Arab pure, part-bred and anglo classes and took reserve champion in hand and under saddle. At his last show he had the same result. He is amateur owned and was bought from me as a yearling gelding and I told his new owners that he was not a show horse but would make a lovely family riding horse! His sire is a ridden horse as is his grandsire (who is also and international champion). He has only done a handful of shows and is mainly a family pet and riding horse which makes his wins even more special.
Booey is by a SE stallion out of a straight Spanish mare and has the best of both. While not top show quality he has a lovely body and topline and a nice head if not exotic enough for the showring these days.
Many congratulations to his owners, Sharon and Dorothy, his rider, Stacey, and , of course, to Booey.
Attached are a few photos from the show, hope you like them; apologies as I am a very poor photographer and only have an old cheap camera. Booey has a full sister who is also a ridden horse and her owners are hoping to show her under saddle next year, we look forward to that Sam and Paula.

Posted - 05 Sep 2011 : 10:21:10 AM Thanks for the photo of Khally; Sammey and Paula; I hope Khally will do as well as Booey. He has only been to four shows and has had the same result every time; won the in-hand and ridden classes and runner up in both championships. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride!!! Next year we expect a few championships, Booey, don't rest on your laurels.
I will have to treat myself to a better camera before then. I have a couple of lovely photos of Booey cantering but they are too far away and when I enlarge them they are too fuzzy to see properly. A couple more photos for you.

Quarabian, another one of him moving for you and one of his favourite bits of the day; hanging around between classes stuffing his face!!!!!
