After a busy few weeks I've finally managed to sort a couple of photos to share of my new boy - Baz - Alkara Bassino. Thanks to Tina for letting me have him he is really lovely.
I'm starting to do some ground work with him and will be looking to back him in a few weeks (with a bit of help  ). Then will leave him over the winter and restart him next year - so really excited about next year!

Karen - yes I've seen his baby photos online they are so cute! Really nice to see how he's grown.. I will def keep you all updated..
Paul - looking more to show, may do some pleasure rides but we do have some great hacking where we are and can ride round different parts of the Sherwood Forest.

Good choice Sarah, lovely horse, big fan of lovely dam too, and she has produced some stunning stock for Karen. He should be a fantastic riding horse, are you going to show or do endurance?

Hi Sarah,
Lovely to see those new pictures of the adorable Baz. He has only got better with age. I bred him 3 years ago and he was an absolutely delightful moving-machine of a foal. If you go back through my archive posts you'll see his baby pictures - he was (and still is) awesome!
I'm so pleased he's got a lovely home as I was desperate not to lose track of him. As Caryn has said, she has his 2yo full brother and I have his yearling full sister, and of course his wonderful mum 
Please keep me posted on your progress together - I wish you both the very best of luck

I'm going to have to get the measuring stick out now you've said that!
I'm hoping to do some showing (I'm sure I'll be seeking lots of advise!) maybe a bit of inhand although I really can't run so may see how it all works out and where it takes us. Also maybe see what he's like over jumps in the future but I'm not in any rush and there's plenty of time...

Goodness, there are so many pictures of Chips on AL already - just look up some of my recent posts. Rose 'n Tobago certainly throw big....I think Baz will be the smallest of the three full siblings .Chips is 15.2hh at two years and Karen says his yearling sister is going to be as tall as him (and they're like two peas in a pod)!
I've taken Chips to a couple of C shows this year and last year; he was 2nd at HOCON this year so he's got his UKIAHS qualification. I know Baz did REALLY well as a yearling colt; wasn't he the yearling futurity winner at Malvern? What do you plan for him in the future?

Caryn - thanks for that. I've not measured him yet but at least 15.1hh. Would love to see some more pics of your lad! Will you doing any inhand showing with him?

He's lovely! I own Baz's two year old full brother, Alkara Cassino (Chips). If Baz is half as sweet, kind, gentle, beautiful, loving and willing as Chips then you'll be a very lucky girl! Out of interest, how tall is Baz?

congratulations to you! he is lovely i really liked him when i was looking to buy but unfortunately he was at the opposite end of the country to me. Reckon he's going to mature into a real stunner. |
