Posted - 09 Sep 2011 : 11:07:47 AM Yes, there always seems to be an outbreak somewhere. It does not help that it is no longer officially 'notifiable', except morally of course; and I do think those going to a show so very close to this reported outbreak should have the opportunity to make an informed decision. |

I have checked with Vets, RC's, Polo Yards and anyone 'in the know' about the outbreak of strangles in Medmenham you report, No one has heard about it. Its seems that the Henley Show is going ahead, and located "a couple of fields away from Medmenham". So I must assume that the organisers know nothing either.
For the sake of the horses and their owners, should you contact the organisers and tell them what you know, the horses attending are at risk and will then go home and potentially spread it further.
Whilst I have passed on your information to as many people as I can, and they will not now be going, its a big show.
