Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 6:49:28 PM Thankyou everybody! I know I am a very lucky girl, to have my boys at home, and that will help me through the winter....I hope! Its all very early days at the moment though, still all a bit dazed by it all!
I need to find a companion pony, as I cant ride my horse without the youngster going mental! So if anybody knows of anything pm me! :-) x |

Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 5:54:20 PM Lucky you!!! It looks fab! Im jealous. I really miss having the horses out the back door. My mum and dad sold our place and moved back into town cos it was quite big and alot of work, but they now regret it. Theyre now looking for something smaller. Theyl be times when you get fed up and tired but you soon change your mind on a sunny summers day and you look out your window and see them happy and content. |

Enjoy & cherish it! |

Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 12:19:15 PM Wow, what a beautiful place. Its so nice to be able to look out and see your horses. Youll soon get used to being on your own though, and "non horsey" husband will soon find the farmer in him im sure Buy him a quad and harrows etc and he will be in his element while you play |

Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 11:48:34 AM Nothing better than having your horses in view of your house, all the hard work will be worth it. We wish you well in your new home, enjoy. |

Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 10:14:01 AM It looks spectacular!
Its a great feeling isnt it! We finally bought our own place last August after 20 years of DIY livery, I will never take for granted looking out of the window and seeing the horses! I still have an excited giggle to myself when I open my bedroom curtains in the morning and see them looking back at me!
You will love every minute of it!

Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 12:25:55 AM two of the wooden stables in the background:
two of the stone stables (have two more the same around the back opposite the wooden ones!)
this area will eventually be my lunge pen:
heading up the track through the woods to the paddocks:
My new helpers! The house is just in the background over my husbands shoulder:
Romeo awaiting us!
Sorry for pic overload!! I have loads more
I love having the boys at home, Over the past 8 years the horses I have owned have been on full livery, but I am enjoying the challenge, with working full time and a five year old son and non horsey husband......winter will be hard......but i keep telling myself it is worth it, as ever window I look out of I can see my boys!!! |

Posted - 11 Jun 2011 : 12:16:14 AM Well we finally moved in and the boys have settled well! Having seperation issues though.....so may be looking for a companion....only a little one as only half 2.5 acres! Although six stables! Above are pics of the boys looking over the garden.....the garden is built out of a quarry (the stone made the house!), so they have can keep an eye on us at all times!
here are some more pics: |
