I bought my gelding a comfy muzzle in order to limit his intake as he is somewhat large at the moment and I can not ride him till December. It looks a bit Hanibal Lectorisg to say the least and very funny when he sticks his tounge out the eating hole. He is fine otherwise. I put it on yesterday for a few hours to get him used to it all went okay albeit a bit grumpy. I put it on this morning, he was still wearing it when I left at 12. The husband got home at 5.30 with instructions to remove it to find the horse naked. The basket case had removed it in one piece with out the safety gel or releas coming undone. It was all rolled up in the middle of the field.

I want to know how he did it the clever little s*d as it has an under the throatlatch like strap which I had done up snuggly. Needless to say he looked very smug.

Us and reckoned it looked like he had rolled his head on ground to vet it off. Would not surprise me going to put it on again and try and witness this weekend. May try capturing on film. Pretty sure he will try removing it within seconds of me putting it on him. Once he knows how to do something he does not hang around. Got toadmit was secretly laughing when husband told me. His brain can be useful at times but he does get easily bored whenyarded over winter. When I bought him a horse feed ball as a youngster within two days he had learnt if he stood still and rolled it left a foot then right a foot repeatedly he could empty it in the fastest possible time. My then older horses lasted hours.

one of the horses at our yard gets his off without undoing it by rolling and then bringing his front legs over his ears- a bit like a dog would really! x

our welsh pony wore one last summer and was fine for a couple of months, then one day found it off and all ripped at one side. got her another one and next day, it was off and broken in exactly the same place as the other one. I put it on with a headcoller as well as I knew she would try to get it off but no use, she is far too clever! Gave up after that.

There is only him and a yearling filly, doubt she did it as he is pretty clever. He was trying to work out how to remove it from the minute I put it on. Other problem is I have loads of grass and only thrr horse and four sheep on about 5 acres. Usually run 3-4 horses and up to 20 sheep on same area. I know that sounds a lot but the sheep numbers go down as I slaughter the lambs and there is another 5 acres I cut for hay then graze after a few weeks till November.

sorry, shouldn't laugh but I just think it's funny when they do things like that.

Maybe another horse pulled it off him?
