Ramsden is doing great I have been looking after him now for the last couple of weeks. He is getting well spoilt rotten lol. I first put him on the walker for a week and then I longreined him for a week and I sat on him on saturday for the first. He was very well behaved and only gave him a light walk and trot for 10 mins. I have rode him a couple of times now in the sand paddock at work. And today he was doing leg yeilding, halt to canter and was really starting to get his bend and balance round the corners. I can't wait to get him into a proper sized paddock as the one at work is round with a round pen in the middle and there is a jump set up for schooling so I can't even go round to keep going with out circling which is tight lol. He has put on 18kg of in the last two weeks and is looking better for it but he still has a very big frame to fill into lol he is going to be hugh he is weighing in at 577kg so he is going to be 600kg or more when he is up to condition. Here is a couple of pictures i too of him today

then out in the field for a pick of grass till he dried
His bum is getting nice and round instead of pointy :)

Yeah he loved ayr and is well capable of winning alot more still but it not to be, his true potential will never be realised now, but he has a carreer change now and I will be enjoying every bit of him making use of his lovely paces and magnificent temperment as he is so trainable and quiet. He was a good racehorse then! He won good races at Ayr and looks super on his racing photos too. Glad he's got a lovely new home with you. |

hi sadika he is called ramsden boy  he is a good horse and has been retired because of no fault of his own and is currently in the form of his life. He is a very special horse to his owner and I have loved this horse for the 5 years i rode him while in training. Erica exracers are a real joy to have and try so hard alot of people are put of by racehorses, and it is so nice now to have classes for them at show etc as it means people now want to have one to compete in these special classes and gives a racehorse a second chance if they don't make the grade. I would like to see pictures of your mare erica its nice to see them in a loving home |

Is Deano's "official" name Ramsden Boy? I had a look on Racing Post and it seems to match - he has 2 hind socks and his facial markings look the same too but a little difficult to tell as your photos don't show his face front on. |

I too have an ex racer a 16.2hh bay mare called Antigone's Fire. She is twelve this year and I bought her last July. She had never had any flatwork/dressage training but she has taken to it like a duck to water. A joy and a pleasure to own and ride |

Thanks for your lovely comments I am very suprised at how quickly he is comming together and is doing better than I thought to be honest I am now getting excited to see how he is going to turn out as he is suprising me to be honest as I have known him 6 years and he was always hard to condition  But I think now it was prob the fact he never got the right work to build his topline feeding him plenty was just not the answer lol but try telling the trainer that dressage work is the way forward Though in his younger days he had plenty of it which to my delight he has never forgot |
