Polka has to have goat's yogurt for a few weeks as part of her detox diet. Today was day 1 and the first time she'd tried it. I spent the morning finding the stuff then all she would do was sniff it! LOL. Even Inka was having absolutely none of it, she had a few sniffs and walked off and considering she eats anything I was getting worried about how I'd feed it to Polka twice a day!

Luckily Po came and showed her how Phew! I thought I was going to have to look for a syringe. Having mum comes in very handy, especially when baby adores and trusts her as much as Polka does

Well the goats yogurt is something of a hit with Polka!

Inka (aka Goldilocks) who likes to go round and have a mouthful of mum's and gran's feed got shooed off it yesterday! ' My goats yogurt Inka!' lol Ink thinks it's

Sorry guys, on reflection I thought that they really are videos only a mum could love! Boring or what!

Just sometimes Po gobsmacks me the way she takes over and/or shows me what to do whilst I'm standing

I remember once in the early days of Polka I pushed one of her buttons (not deliberately) it turned out to be a big red button I never knew was there! Anyway she flipped (doing groundwork with her) and ran off to the top of the field doing that frantic whinnying! It took me a few seconds to realise what had just happened but instantly Po was after her. She cantered past me and I ran after her. Obviously she got to Polka first and I'll never forget my jaw dropping as I watched her put her on a circle in trot and kept her circling whilst whickering to her. It was truly amazing! I'll never ever forget that. When I arrived all puffing and panting Po stopped and Polka was much calmer.

I think yesterday just reminded me of that day, and we think we are the ones that teach!

DEA Yes she can be a bit dodgy in the digestive system. I have to watch what she gets, no haylage etc. I had her tested by the kinesiologist who is fixing Po and we have this new diet.

Offira I have to admit I don't blame her either, I tried it

Shah Po never needed goats yogurt so this is my first experience of giving it, but I did recall you having difficulty feeding it to Mush and when Polka said 'eh no thanks' it brought that back! How is Mush?

What lovely videos. I have used that trick with mine as have found they won't eat when it is their medicine but if they think they are stealing someone else's or they are missing out they are straight in there!

Polka is right to be suspicious of goat's yogurt in my opinion!

Took me two weeks of syringing before Mush would eat then but he then happily gobbled it up

Well done Po

Do you give the live yogurt just for the good live bacteria to help tummys/digestive systems?

If so has anyone tried Acidophilus? They have the live bacteria ( i believe) bifidobacterium?

They come in capsules which you can pull apart to obtain the powder inside. I have given them to my son (if he was too ill eat live yogurt),i have had them when ill, and the cats but never thought about the horses! As they are for humans i don't know if you could use them on a horse just a thought for the yogurt haters?

Bless!! I had to syringe 1 litres of live yoghurt twice a day with my youngster.......it was very messy! But it worked and helped settle hus tummy!

I couldnt get him to eat it naturally no matter what I disguised it has.......but then I didnt have a Po!!!
