Of the five mentioned four, namely Heavenly Boy Blue; Whalton Highwayman; Thursden Vallye Raphael and Colbeach Night Light are registered Part-breds.
All of these stallions come from well established blood lines going back years. What a fantastic legacy the Arab has left, and three of "these boys" have performed impeccably at the Cherif. |

Posted - 20 Mar 2011 : 5:05:02 PM It was a truly wonderful advert for the Part-breds. Most of the old stallions mentioned in the article as being at the top now are also Part-breds. The majority of ponies still have a large percentage of Arab blood - it just is not being picked up, or recognised!
We have had loads of ponies overstamped with the society, and the majority are not just scraping in. |

Posted - 20 Mar 2011 : 4:27:32 PM What an interesting thread! Haven't bought H&H for ages! I have to say that IMHO the best pony stallions always have a decent % of Arab blood and I have seen many examples of modern day pony breeding(with very little Arab blood) which do absolutely nothing for ME at all...Must go and get a copy of H&H. I love Heavenly Boy Blue and Thursden Valley Raphael and have seen amazing progeny of Colbeach Nightlight - must go and check out Whalton Highwayman. Ah, the WHALTON STUD and % of Arab blood in breeding...I rest my case...! |
