Posted - 16 Mar 2011 : 3:50:31 PM Hi any advice please. Ive got a beautiful gold arab halter with white webbing and after showing on sunday, the webbing has become dirty, with oil and other products. The halter has diamante attachments to it, so for obvious reasons i dont want to put it in the washer. HELP to get it clean please!!. I do have other halter but this one is beautiful, and was custom made. Thanks xxx |

Posted - 16 Mar 2011 : 7:00:25 PM I have a traditional halter with shells on and didn't want to use it for ages because I dreaded having to wash it and breaking all the shells. I got told to use an old toothbrush and very watered down horse shampoo and just brush it up until it was clean. Have done it ever since. It does take a long time, but it means you can spot burst stitches and it will last forever. Perhaps using a whitening shampoo would help out with yours? |

Or even the foam carpet cleaner made by Vanish? |

He/She would know by the type of adhesive used to attach the diamantes and if you would be able to carefully hand wash it
Seems an awful pity if there is no way to satisfactorily clean your halter, particularly as it is white webbing which clearly would quickly become soiled
