Posted - 01 Mar 2011 : 1:26:34 PM Hi All,
Hope this doesnt seem a silly question however Im new to the ridden arab showing world and would like some advice really!
Basically I was wondering what would be the best attire for me to wear? Im only starting off with Mr T at local level RC Arab classes and hoping to progress to do some AHS shows next year all being well.
What bridle do I need to be showing him in, can it be a snaffle to start off with or does it have to be a double? Can I use his normal black tack or am I better off getting a brown/havanna show saddle and bridle etc? What colour girth would be best for us to use? I knowRC level isnt the same as AHS shows but I'd still like us both to look the part :-) Im used to showjumping nowadays more than showing!
Sorry for sounding rather silly, but we all have to start somewhere I guess Thanks for your help, its much appreciated! Sian xx

Posted - 01 Mar 2011 : 2:35:20 PM hi, i would get a nice tweed hacking jscket. c=green looks lovely on a grey. shirt in a neutral colour, cream/canary johds/breeches, long leather boots. a nice navy hat with flesh coloured strap fits the part best although no rules on that as long as its not brightly coloured. although stated that arabs should wear plain bridles, most these days wear fancy coloured browbands. almost any colour goes with a grey, i would look for a matching tie and scrunchie, as it finishes off the picture. i think a white girth would look nice on your boy, but brown or black is correct too depending onthe colour of your saddle. brown is the more correct colour for tack in the show ring, but black will be fine at local/riding club level. and a nice showing cane (i like bamboo canes, but thats just me). erm, cant think of anything else at the moment, oh, gloves, to fit in with your colour scheme (looks nice when the gloves match the colour of your cane. hope this helps. :)
