Re special equipment - Mudbuster! Just bought it after I noticed all the little girls on my yard have them for their Connemara ponies. Its a sort of three ring metal contraption and looks like an instrument of torture. However it is brilliant and much better than my old dandy brush...

Both mine had a roll today in the mud. My bay mare looks like a muddy hippo and my Grey boy looks like an even muddier hippo.

I did put mane and tail spray all over Ozzy though so it is easier to brush off (not on saddle area though)

Shouldn't complain at least Kirstie is bay couldn't keep a grey clean. Good luck getting Estara clean,

Wasn't it beautiful yesterday? Today a little grey but still mild.

Here is my beautiful muddy Estara leaving her wallow after her daily roll

Yep...Laddie gets hot when ridden did n ot clip him this year and am regretting it now!...........turned him out rugless after a wash down yesterday (so warm out for a change) and he came in like a hippo.....we have clay too!! He hates being groomed at the best of times so when he is thick with mud it takes an age to get him clean!BTW does anyone has any special "mud removing kit" they can recommend ? At the moment I have a plastic curry comb, a hessian grooming mit (great for legs and tickly bits)and a rubber "knobly" brush....most of my stuff has to be pretty soft as he is such a Mr Grumps when you start trying to make him look presentable!

The paddock that my mare is in is soooo muddy at the moment. I daren't turn her out rugless. It's like sticky clay and takes ages just to get it off her neck and out of her ears!

I have a bay mare and a grey mare. My grey mare gets sooooo muddy. She comes back in looking like she's black or piebald most of the time. When I figure out how to post pics I'll put them up.

Yes! Spider was hot and sweaty after being ridden so I washed him down and turned him out naked for an hour. I've never seen such a muddy horse. He looked very cheerful when I brought him in to attack him with the mudbuster.

Looks like she enjoyed herself though
My mare had such a lovely roll (both sides mind) and then had a long grooming session with her friend.
What a lovely day - roll on Spring

I haven't pulled her mane she rubbed it out last summer in Oct it was an inch in the longest place. Fingers crossed it doesnt happen this year.
