Posted - 22 Jan 2011 : 5:43:13 PM Just got back from a lovely day with our horses and for lunch we went to Happa which is very close to our yard. Had a look round the stables which are pristine and all the gorgeous little ponies, nice to see that so many of them are happy and well looked after when they have been through such trauma previously. Anyway was chatting to the manager about our horses and mentioned we had Arabs and she said have you seen the Arab stallion in the top block. We went to have a look at him and he is stunning, fabulous temprement I could have taken him home!! She doesn't know much about his history except the person that owned them (there is also a mare) died and the family were at a loss of what to do with them and luckily they have ended up with a home for life at Happa. He is called Mandarin Warrior, very liver chestnut with an amazing mane, white blaze and was born in 1993. Ive looked on all breeds but he's not there. Has anyone ever heard/seen him? Just thought it would be interesting to see his breeding as he is a really lovely old fashioned type. I said i would look into his breeding, i know ive got enough but could see myself adopting this one just so i could go and see him each week

Posted - 22 Jan 2011 : 10:47:23 PM I read this post with interest as Madryn Warrior is the sire of my horse. My horse is also liver chestnut with a big blaze and a very thick mane so think it must be the same one! I bought my horse off his breeder and am still in touch so I'll probably be able to find out a bit more about him but I believe he came from the Worcestershire area.
If it is the same one, I think a little trip to Happa may be in order!

Posted - 22 Jan 2011 : 6:05:12 PM Hi Dinkidoo, just had a quick look in the stud books, Mandarin Warrior isn't listed, but there is a Madryn Warrior ? 1995 chestnut colt, by Bru-Bet Seradro out of Bit O'Rose, Bit O'Rose was bred by Bru-Bet Arabians and was by BOH Bit Obask out of Najas Bayfixa by Magna Terra Naja. Madryn Warrior was bred by Mr R.P Williams.
I am completely unfamiliar with this breeding but I'm sure there will be someone on AL who knows, if this is the horse
