Posted - 22 Jan 2011 : 9:47:40 PM Pat at Millhouses knows what we are looking for and has nothing big enough at the mo and not had for some time. We were on our way to see a lovely little pony of hers last September when i got a txt from the then landowners pulling the rug out from under us, so although Ellie liked the pony we had to say no as we had no grazing security
I will have a look at the other rescue site too, thanks Susie.

Posted - 22 Jan 2011 : 08:11:00 AM Pony buying is a nightmare!
Try that well known organisation for young people and ponies. Or you could try the ads at your local feed merchant or riding school. Or you could ask your vet/farrier, they often get told of ponies coming up for sale.
We've been very fortunate that the sellers of the ponies we bought were all very open and honest about the ponies and we were told all their little hang ups and foibles. Honesty is the most important thing.
If your daughter is tall, what about an Arab (pure, part or Anglo)? There are some lovely horses for sale on here (definitely more than one that I want!) and she could join share her experiences and fun with everyone.
A bond between a young person and a horse/pony with Arabian blood is like no other friendship on earth. You'd be getting her a gift way beyond a pony to ride. |
