Posted - 17 Jan 2011 : 1:55:03 PM Does anyone remember when the tops of leather boots used to have a patent leather finish, about 3-4", where the brown leather is on a man's boot, or used to be, beloved of show jumpers usually and hunting people. I used to have a pair and I'd love another pair like them, but you just dont see them around.
I've seen Frances Atkinson riding in a pair fairly recently, but am wondering if they are from the first time they came out and she obviously looked after hers better than I did.
Any ideas or suggestions |

Posted - 18 Jan 2011 : 12:20:26 PM Ha ha Pasha, I found the Joshua Jones site and I now know what you mean, serious wish list stuff some of it. The plastic could do some serious damage on there.
Found the boots Nikki was talking about, they are lovely, but one question, does no one do the 'normal-style' cut riding boot anymore. Everywhere seems to be with the arched tops and I dont think they suit me, I've only got little legs. I'm still wearing the old style, but really need new ones |

Posted - 17 Jan 2011 : 3:01:42 PM we have just bought Amy De Niro boots and they do have them with the patent top.
A lot of dressage boots are patent as its fashionable at the moment.
Good luck with your hunt!
